DAY 1  I wanted a pic of Tank with the MiniChamps.  Tank wanted an action shot of him chewing the scales.  We compromised and got this.   :D

Welcome to November.  My Alox MiniChamp exited the pouch today to help replace the batteries in my granddaughters toy phone.

I'm thinking that in most all of my recent challenges that this may be the most seen duties of my Vic's.
Something reassuring about not having to rummage through my tools to find a small screwdriver.

Day 1: My primary contender and my true EDC.  I have the cellidor version too, which I've not carried in awhile.

I'm happy to see others that carry a MiniChamp daily.   There are days that I don't use mine, but sure enough, the day I don't I need it.  Had a Drs appointment, yesterday, and left mine at home.  Sure enough, later, I had some paracord that I needed to cut reached up and it wasn't there.
Sometimes it's just that way.

Day 01
Put the old style MC on my keychain replacing the normal Rambler. Still nice and slim and unnoticeable BUT no combo tool opener and philips layer :ahhh

New style MC kept close by, does have the combo tool of course but now a fair bit thicker…..opened some mail

This is why you need to pick up an Alox MC, Echotech.  The thickness is basically equal to the Rambler.  Only downside is the loss of the scale tools.

Awesome bit of compromise there but I'd assume that Tank didn't see it that way.

Off to a terrific start, y'awl! And nice to see HARM join up!

Day 1

Two packages arrived today, so I decided to see how the cut and picker blade handled things. It did okay on the plastic tape, but not too hot on the paper tape.

Some great pictures and uses so far y’awl!  :salute:  :tu:
My main contender for this challenge will be this MiniChamp Alox.
It was pretty recently acquired- so this is going to be a really fun month  :ahhh

The cuticle pusher worked great to open the stubborn battery door  :twak: of the field recorder

I'm defecting over to the LM side for the PST challenge this month, but I'm keeping an eye on y'awl. Love the action shots as always, Explorer.

Day 1
Started slow with only the knife blade and bottle opener being used, so I took a picture of the knife and snack.

And that’s the problem PC, I like the scale tools but love Alox….so tend to carry larger Alox SAKs (mostly PX and FX), the Rambler or Manager then gives me best of both worlds

Now what are the chances of me giving in and having an alox MC by the end of the challenge  pretty darn high I suspect

During the Buck 112 challenge I picked up two more of them and last months fixie challenge….four :ahhh

In my defense (I know I’m amongst friends and like minded people 8) ) one of the 112’s is hard to come by so had to get it while I could (obviously  )

With the fixies, one had been ordered months before and one was the very generous GAW from @SurgeUk
Another a 1960’s vintage Case in mint condition, well how could I resist and the Sharpfinger, well everyone should have one in their collection :)

Day 1

I cut open a lot of boxes today with the main blade. (I still need to clean off the tape goo.) Usually I use a 91mm for this, so the small 58mm blade felt rather strange.

Also used the nail file as a letter opener.

And jotted down a short note with the pen.

Off to a good start!

Day 2: Used the cuticle pusher for a prying tool.  This tool is a good straight edge screwdriver too!

DAY 02

Needed to open a new can of tobacco today and the orange peeler part of the minichamp worked. Probably would have been better just pulling the tab but why not use it if you got it!

In all fairness, the Rambler has the best tools from the MiniChamp. I keep a couple in various places where I simply don't want to leave a MiniChamp.

Indeed. The Rambler makes sense to me, the MC not so much. I hope this challenge can improve my impression of the MC, but from the outset I much prefer the Rambler.

It’s not a size I tend to carry anyways, but I keep a Rambler in my travel dopp kit. I tend to travel quite light, and  this is a perfect way to expand the capability of my toiletry bag without adding much weight or bulk.

DAY 2  I spent the morning in the dentist's chair.  My lovely wife felt bad for me  :) and bought me a Zippo survival fire starter.  I used the emergency blade on the MC2 to open the tinder packet.

Great start, y’awl!

Day 2

Postie dropped by with a package - more Knipex filth, yay! My alox minichamp which lives on my key ring and is truly EDC without even thinking about it, did the opening honours.

Well, as I started the day out, alone, I thought I'd start it with a smoke.
I do tend to have a lot of these pics during these challenges as it's something I do with my MiniChamp frequently.

However, my granddaughter got lonesome for her "Grumpy" and wanted to come "home".  Quite certain that my sidekick will be keeping me company for several days now.

Day 2:
Not really feeling it yet.
Had to reach for some more efficient tools on a couple of occasions. MC still to prove its useless, but I’m sticking to it, and carry it as my main MT.

I gotta ask, what is up with that scale? Is one glued on top of another to provide another slot for tools? What am I seeing there exactly?
