Day 03:

Opened a parcel with a new Winter jacket for Adventure Girl.

(Image removed from quote.)

Unfortunately, the jacket is too big and Adventure Girl will need to toughen up.........
Nice, it looks pretty fancy.  :tu:

Day 4

Wedding day! The Exec put in plenty of work today (most of which I didn't get pics of, since I was too busy getting married) but I did catch a snap of a snip on the stiches at the back of one of my groomsman's jackets.

General quotes of the day: There's no such thing as a natural-born pilot.
Congratulation to you and Mrs! :woohoo:  So neat to see one of us getting married while doing a challenge!

Day 4, buddy at military drill ask me to see “my knife”. Knows me well. Expected a “flashy folder that I usually carry”. Needless to say, took a bit of explaining our challenge to him.

Day 4: Used the tweezers to pull the backing from my Zippo to refill it and the straight edge screwdriver to replace the flint.

You can’t beat a Zippo Barry  though mine has been a shelf queen since I gave up. I still believe you should always have a means of ignition handy though.

Low 60's outside so I thought that I'd head out for a cigar break.   So here's my obligatory cigar cutter pic.

Outdoor pants all day. Outdoor all day. The Executive got lost in the pant swap and wasn’t carried. No knife or tool was needed, used or hurt as a consequence of my failures

Hopefully she grows into quickly.

I have difficulty finding Fisher jackets that fit due to his length.

Day 3 (so far…):

I lost some weight! Enough that I needed smaller pants, which is pretty exciting.  I used the scissors to cut off the tags.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Then I used the main blade to open a package that contains… a Compact, I think? There’s no nail file on the hook, but it’s 91mm so I don’t think it’s a Golfer (which are 84mm, right?). So, a little research may be required on this one.

Congrats on the weight lose

Hopefully she grows into quickly.

We're going to return it to REI. But...Mrs Nix was able to order a smaller (XXS) size directly from Ruff Wear. Take a look at the Ruff Wear site, they have a variety of jackets and some in smaller sizes.   :tu:

Day 4:

No uses today but I did take my Executive on a five mile hike in the snow. Here’s a glamour shot with my day pack.

It was fun to take the same SAK into the wilderness as Chuck Yeager!

Day 4

Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. We (mostly my wife) had things organized so we actually had time to take a breather and eat between all the visiting, dancing, etc. She has my old Rambler (replaced by the Exec I carry now) on her keys, used it several times while she was prepping with the bridesmaids, and said it was probably the handiest thing in her wedding fix-it kit. We gave some engraved Classics (pics one day next week) as gifts to some of the wedding party, ushers, etc. (my dad said a Classic were his groomsman gift too when I gave him his) and most of them said they used them already this weekend.

One the challenge front, the small blade helped open some of the cards today.

General Quote: If you want to grow old as a pilot, you've got to know when to push it, and when to back off.

DAY 04

Needed to replace a flint on a Clipper lighter. Back of that Orange Peeler worked just right to loosen that plastic screw.

Another reason I keychain one of these Executives. They have that little extra length and that great nail file.

Now I'm gonna have to dig out my user Zippo...

Is he hard on his toys? Most of my dogs certainly have been.

Another great day, y'awl! :tu:

Day 4

The nail cleaner got a chance to shine. Again, it was used for its intended purpose, so no action shots.

Day 5, self grooming, spare you guys from the action shots. Do like this version of the nail file best.
