Badge request: Duct tape

Start a thread with a photo of a repair you made with duct tape

The apprentice left this box out in the rain, so I used some duct tape to fix it. It might not look like much, but it is enough to prevent everything from falling out when I grab it.

While I was at it, I also taped a LED strip onto the scaffolding. I could have used zip ties, but I feel like the thin plastic wears through the water resistant housing.

In all honesty I rarely use duct tape. It is one of the product's that is too good for a temporary solution, yet not good enough for permanent solutions. We use a lot of tape in the building industry, but over here these products are regulated by Norwegian or European standards. Here is an example of a permanent tape we use. The separator is parted in the middle for easy application.

Nice work!

I have only used the green permanent tape for building and it really sticks
