We call it Lønn, but the scientific name is Acer Platanoides. I have very limited Knowledge of plants, but in Wikipedia the Acer is listed under species of trees known as sycamore :tu:

I looked up the scientific name you gave and it calls it a Norway Maple :think: does it have helicopter or winged like seeds or ball type seeds? Sycamores from here have a round ball that is a seed but the maples have the helicopter/winged seeds :think: :cheers: cool leaf either way 8) :like:

You got me curious once I started looking :D

I have a Platanus Occidentalis an American Sycamore instead of Sycamore Maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) those 2 look very similar in leaves but tree trunk, bark and seeds are different :ahhh

Cheers Poncho. It does have a helicopter like seed indeed! I was searching for a bit as well, baffled by how many different but similar species there are. We only have one kind of maple in Norway though, and they grow in very limited areas :cheers:

We have lots and lots of trees here :ahhh I grew up knowing quite a few because of my grandfather (he cut trees and logged/lumberjacked most of his life) :salute: he taught me quite a few of them and I guess the knowledge stuck :woohoo: :D

It is always something neat to know :tu: I love knowing which tree is which :D to further that knowledge,  a few years ago I bought a book on tree identities and was really surprised by how many I did know :ahhh but at the same time, mind blown by how many here in the US that I didn't know :o :ahhh
