Our friend Aztec sent me this nice post card along with some Christmas candy.  And there were the blue scales that he took off a Tinker and polished.  Nando asked if I would give him some pointers on polishing cellidor.  I can't teach him a thing.  These are solid blue cellidor that used to have a logo on one side.  The advertisement is all gone now.  Just beautiful.  Like a mirror.  Thanks Nando.  Best wishes.  G

This jackalope had a proclivity for jalapeño poppers but he gets a little... oderiferous, post digestion.   :-[

Glad you liked the scales and the sweets Gary!

For some of you eagle-eyed Multitoolarians you may have noticed something different in my box at the post office photo from last trip.  The newspaper box seems to have acquired a new coat of paint.  And the Franklin Press has gone up 50%.  I think that's right.  50% of a dollar is 50 cents, right?  But if the paper costs $1.50 now, and you take off 50 cents, that would only be a reduction of 33.34 % .
No wonder I couldn't rest last night.  I dreamed I was in a cramped restaurant.  In Canada.  Someone lit a cigar.  A real Stinkola one.  Then other people started smoking cigarettes.  I couldn't breathe.  I put my head under a table cloth, and someone handed me an inhaler, but it was stopped up.  Then I started asking people to stop smoking.  Some did.  I took the cigarettes away from some people and stubbed them out.  Then I pushed the cigar smoker out of a window.  I figured I had better leave, and ran into a man who died last week here.  Used to run a camera shop.  I gave him a hug.
When I woke up, I was wound up in the covers like a cocoon.  I took a test sniff to see if the house was on fire.  It wasn't.  Best wishes.  Gary

Well here are my preliminary wanna keep items.  I am bad to change my mind and so it has to be preliminary.
1) Leatherman Bolster   It seems this is a Costco special, or at least it used to be.  It is sort of like a Rev.  I figured if I was going to go down the Leatherman trail I might as well have one
more.

2)  Case peanut.  Pretty little thing.  I think I will let my brother in law have it.  It was in the box
last time I had it.  The Case box is with it but has taken a beating from being shipped and jostled.

3)  Victorinox Bijou.  This one was in the box before also.  I cleaned it up and sharpened it.  Might need a spare for the Classic etc. challenge.  I might wear one of my other 58mm out
while splitting rails or shoeing horses or something.

I have been using a sharpening steel that was in the box.  I might end up keeping it.  I will let everyone know.  I haven't looked everything over very well just yet.  Will I be shipping it soon?  Doesn't look like it.  LoopCutter and I have been talking things over.  He has some things he has to do and asked me to see if anyone else wanted to be next in line after me.  I decided not to be in a rush to do anything soon.  So, if I have to keep the box a while, that will be fine.  However..... if anybody wants to receive a medium priority box with many different kinds of stuff in it just let me know.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

You have got to keep the Bolster.  That Case is a cutie so thats also an easy pick.  Can ya really have too many 58mms?  No you cannot.

Great preliminary picks.  I hope you find more to keep.

You are making great choices Gary.

Take your time,  the only downside, you may not have enough pockets in your jeans.  I can see bibs in your future.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Bibs, huh?  They just say overhauls down here.  Or bib overhauls.  If you went downtown when I was a lad on Saturday, about half of the grown men had them on.  Not so much now.  Very practical clothing.
Let's see.... what will I put in my front bib pocket?  Wallet.  Brown Mule plug tobacco.  Nickel plated dollar watch on a braided leather thingie.  Red bandana in another pocket.  Leatherman in a side pocket.  A stub of a pencil.  The big flat sided carpenter's kind.  Don't need a phone.
I think that little Bijou had the dullest blade I have ever seen on a SAK.  And the sharpest scissors.  I might just have to put it in the zippered up bib front pocket.  I tend to lose things.  Especially small things.  I am gratified that awl of you like my choices.  Best wishes and a safe New Year.  Gary

Yep, bibs, overhauls, what ever!  Awl names they go by.

My second career working parking construction, after my first week cutting concrete on a garage project, I returned with bibs in my truck.
Would slip on and go to work. A pocket for awl my essential tools, end of day  legs coated in concrete dust, slip them off, beat the dust off, and I was good to go for a dress up affair!😁

Old dog with new tricks😁. Soon a fashion style at job site.    There were 40 contractors on site, about 6,000 laborers and about 5% in bibs doing most of the work, awl were grey hairs🔥
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I packed the Sos surprise box and closed the top.  Put a little piece of tape on the flaps.  No need for more, since there is no place for it to go.  It crawled off into the corner and I could swear I heard a sniffle.
No place to go.  Nobody wants to play.  Makes me so sad I can hardly finish typing.  Sad wishes.... I mean best wishes.  Gary

I'd take it again. I said I wouldn't take it again this year, but unless Gary has a teleporter I should be good.

Bravo, BP.  You can PM me your address.  It might be next week before I get around to the post office.  If that's okay with you.  Technically you will be getting it next year.  That's makes it all good.  Best wishes.  G

Very good BPRoberts, glad it work for you they say😉!   Look forward to see your picks.

Already had private conversation with Gary why I needed to  back out of line.  Maybe, February 😄🔥. Hard to know what is in the future schedule wise, must stay flexible

I think it is funny that so few people are interested in gettin’ in on the free goodies.

But I’m glad it is at least still moving.

Under the heading of old business.... I did mention that I was using a steel out of the Sos surprise box and might keep it.  Here it is.  A nice pocket-sized tool.  You know this thing might actually make a back pocket tool.  You could always use it instead of a sap in an altercation.  If it didn't pull your pants down first.  Add it to my Keepers list.  Best wishes.  Gary

Hi Gordon,
I tried that honesteel out on an Old Hickory boning knife.  Worked great.  The knife is ancient, but one of my favorite cutting up meat tools.  The Schrade honesteel has been around the block a few times, too.  Best wishes.  G

The box is on the move!  I had to drive right by the post office on an errand, so I mailed it today.  I have sent friend BPRoberts a PM and the tracking number.  Might get a box by Saturday?  Best wishes.  G

That was the original plan.  However, there has been some bad weather moving in.  I figured it was better to get it in the mail, than to hitch up my homemade dog sled and try it that way.  Did you see where AzteCypher put a link to the Sos in his signature?  Great idea.  I never noticed that the post office put a stamp on the box before.  They did this time.  Everything still cost $17.10.  Best wishes.  G
