Where are all the Greeks at?

Megan and I have decided to visit Athens in January and I'd like some help on suggestions of things to see and do. 

We have the regulars covered- the Pantheon, Acropolis, Delphi etc.

We will probably be renting a car at some point.  I would also like to buy a SAK shortly after arriving, as I won't be bringing one with me.  It will be a nice keepsake of the trip and I will mail it home to myself when we leave.  Suggestions on the best places in or near Athens would be appreciated!

Also, I m wondering what rules or guidelines I should follow with it so as not to upset any authorities.

Any advice, thoughts or comments would be appreciated- and for those wondering why we would go to Greece at the coldest time of the year, well, it will be a heck of a lot warmer than Canada at that time!   :ahhh

I am hoping so.  I am looking forward to a lot of it, but perhaps the part I am most excited about is a trip to Thermopylae.  I really want to stand where the Spartans stood and fended off the Persians.
