Delemont scissors question
on:
November 24, 2022, 02:04:06 PM
I just got brand new Evo14. All seems fine except the fact that the scissors stay closed when fully closed - they do not spring back (please see picture).
These are my first wenger style scissors so I do not know if this is normal or there is something wrong with the spring.
When only partially closed they reopen.
Thanks for your advice!

Probably just some lubrication needed. Try adding a drop of oil to the pivot and working it a bit.

If they are gummed up, use some rubbing alcohol and try to work some into the joint. They don’t open as wide as the Vic scissors so it’s a little tricky.
Also, don’t let rubbing alcohol touch the scales! It will melt them!

Another thing could be that the points of the scissors are a little bent or just the little serration. Sometimes happens when you cut hard wire

Drop of oil worked like charm! All good now. I did not expect that as it was brand new, it had to dry out. Thanks a lot for your advices!
