Cybertool layer question
on: November 29, 2022, 08:37:05 PM
Hi all,

Did you ever noticed an hole in the bit-driver like this one?

It's really clean, so I was thinking that may be a first version of the tool? (It's from a XLT)

Thanks !

I'm just curious:  can you see the bit through that hole?  I'm guessing you can and that is just above where the bit bottoms out.  Perhaps it was a way to clear gunk or free stuck bits that either wasn't necessary or weakened the part?

Anyone have any creative ideas for using the holes?

One final thought - perhaps a sakwiki update would be a good idea.

Yes, I can see trough it and it is at the bottom.

I'd like to see if this is "factory" made...

I hope other owners have the same! And yes, and SAK WIKI update would be interesting :)

Very interesting. I just checked my XLT. It's not as old as yours (it sports the second generation magnifier with transparent housing and plastic lens) and it does not have the hole. The other three Cybertools in my drawer are all recent (and the CT Lite has the current gen magnifier) and don't have the hole either. So you may be right, the hole could very well be a particularity of the first generation of Cybertool drivers.
