Leatherman ARC Trademarked

Looks to possibly be the next production LM, which seems to be hammer based like the Signal.

My two guesses -

1. "Arc" suggests electricity, so I'm guessing it will be an electrician's tool.

2. A "Curl" is a smaller "Wave", and an "Arc" sounds smaller than a "Curl".  Maybe it's a smaller version of the Curl.

3. Maybe both 1 and 2  :tu:

Good thoughts.  I am looking forward to something completely new.

LM really needs a product to fill the void between the Style/Squirt and their full size tools. If they also choose to pack it with electrician/electronics specific tools, I’ll be, well I guess most of all a bit perplexed and surprised, but also very quick to order.

A pretty recent registration, so I guess we won’t know in quite a while

Well, Juice could refer to electricity and they just closed them out, so an Arc could be a replacement.

Could ARC be an acronym?  Sorry, I didn’t click the link because I had skimmed the article when it first appeared.

Just spitballing here:

Yeah, I will be buying that MT also. The design and specs look great.

From Rich's link, they are expecting the Arc sometime around March - April. I wonder when we will get the official notification.

Love that they are using a super steel in the main blade. Missing the serrated blade - I would trade the can opener in one as I never use the can opener on my multi-tool any way. Otherwise, looks like a nice toolset.

The link information has been pulled from the website with this message:

“I apologize.

Regarding the advance reservation for the new Leatherman product ARC that I announced yesterday

I got a call from Shinmyung this morning.

I got an email from Leatherman's U.S. headquarters this morning.

It was a call asking you to make an ARC information disclosure and pre-order.

The relevant information is as posted in the 'Multi-Tool Forum' cafe.

And after a while, I got back to you.

There was a mistake, so the order was last at the end of January.

It is said that the stocking period will be corrected to October this year.

It is said that there was a problem with the translation and e-mail translation.

I would like to apologize to the members of the Han River and the members of the Multi-Tool Forum.

We will contact those who made the reservation and ask for the minimum request.

I'm so sorry.”

Certainly the most interesting Free design I’ve seen so far. They might pull me in this time.

The implements looks useful, but I can’t help thinking they’re playing it very safe here, with a little bit of everything, generic tool. I sorely miss some innovation with regards to end user focused toolsets.

It’s also nice to see that they’re dabbling with new high end steels, but I also have a feeling they’re trying to ride the magnacut craze more than going after the best steel for the tool. Not complaining, MC will never be bad in a multitool, but LMs aren’t known for their rust resistance, so an extremely rust resistant blade might not be called for. Cruwear, Rex45 or some other high performance tool steel that aren’t too prone to rust could be an even better match. Albeit maybe harder to market.

Well, October does make it a bit easier for me to save up the money because I am sure it won't be a cheaper tool  :D

Still hoping that it comes out earlier though :D

May is usually the month that they have been know to release things (seems like October is another month they like to release things  ) but of course they do as they want to for the most part :dunno: ;) also, we may expect other tools to be released as well  they released the Bond and Curl a couple months or so apart  :salute: I may be way off about that though  :D

Very interesting.  I tend to like the smaller and lighter tools nowadays for carry, but this does look and sound interesting.

Benchmade has a new Taggedout folder with a MagnaCut blade coming out for $337.50, so this one might be painful.
