Arriving a bit late, but still very welcome is this really, REALLY cool Advent calendar from a good buddy of mine- it's the Star Wars Funko Pop Advent Calendar and I had some catching up to do!

December 01 was R2-D2 with antlers and Christmas lights- as one of my all time favorite Star Wars characters, they made me very happy from the get go!

December 02 took a little longer to figure out than I want to admit... it was like a headless snowman in a mushroom with thorns or something?

Nope, it's Darth Maul as a snowman!  Or maybe what he looked like after that night on Hoth!   :rofl:

December 03 features the most feared bounty hunter in the Galaxy, the guy who was killed, but sold so many action figures they had to resurrect him and give him his own show, Jango's original, unaltered clone (well, altered by a Sarlaac pit, but not by the Kaminoans!) Boba Fett!

I'm a little less jealous of Gareth and his Star Wars Lego Advent calendar now.... but still jealous because it is also cool as heck!   :D

When I opened today's door I heard a voice say "Help me Swiss Army Knife, your my only hope!"

I quickly grabbed the closest thing to a lightsaber that I had handy, a Victorinox Spartan and sliced away the Imperial Detainment Baggie and rescued Princess Leia in her finest kimono.

I'm not sure what that has to do with Christmas other than she is trying to keep warm because she only has a gold bikini on underneath!

Today has a picture of Darth Vader on it, so it must be spectacular.

Instead, it is R5-D4 made of snow.  You may remember him as the one Luke called "Red" in A New Hope (aka the first movie), who promptly exploded after purchase.

This is Padawan Don Kay, who, along with Jedi Master Shrek, was able to defeat the evil Sith Lord Farquad for possession of the swamp planet Dagobah.

Just a quick recap before we start into today's addition!

So far we have two different Sith Lords (Darths Vader and Maul), two versions of the same bounty hunter (Boba Fett and Boba Fett, or maybe it's Jodo Kast?  :think:), R2-D2 with antlers and Christmas lights, his good buddy R5-D4, Chewie, Princess Leia Organa Skywalker Solo and two versions of the galaxy's most annoying droid. 

On that note, has anyone else noticed that the 9 main Star Wars films are basically just three generations of the Skywalker family being mean to C-3PO?  That doesn't seem fair...

Anyways, back to topic, time for Door #11!

Being #11 I fully expected it to be Nigel Tufnel, but then maybe I was getting Star Wars and Spinal Tap mixed up- a common mistake.  :D

With two different versions of C3PO, an R2 unit and an R5 unit, I'm not sure we have enough droids to get everything done!  Especially now that Luke kid is here- he's pretty whiny, always wanting to go into town and get power converters.  Like seriously, what is he doing with all of those power converters?  How much power does he need to convert?



But I am getting off track, which I understand is a Multitool.org tradition!   :D

Even though she is behind a snowflake door, I doubt anyone would consider her one- today's addition to the set is a second Leia, dressed in a red robe this time!

Now we have 2 x Leias, 2x Boba Fetts, 2x C3POs and 2x Darth Vaders.... which kind of makes me wonder if the folks at Funko Pop even know of a guy named Han Solo.... you know, Chewbacca's friend?  Or Obi-Wan?

Seems a bit weird to double up on so many without at least covering some of the main characters first, but maybe they are building to something?

Today's door has a stormtrooper on it, so it must be someone from the Empire, right?  That is assuming the image on the door has anything to do with what's inside!

Inside we find a red bag, but I already did the Jason Bourne joke, so glossing over that, we see that we were partly right- it is someone with ties to the Empire, specifically, someone who was trained by the Empire, in both Disney Canon and Legacy Star Wars, and wears the Corellian bloodstripe on his pants to prove it!

Late as always, just like any scruffy looking, nerf herding smuggler, Han solo showed up today just as the party was getting into full swing!

And speaking of parties, here is an updated shot of the whole set so far!

As you can see, it's a bit lopsided, with only four "bad" guys!   :ahhh

Saw a bunch of normal size Funko in a shop yesterday, they had book of boba repainted armour with black undersuit and cob vanth versions.

The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

I guess that means Christmas is near!

The door today leads to a snowman version of a stormtrooper, but unfortunately this poor fellow seems to have melted a little.  His head is a bit too far forward and so he won't stand up.  Maybe something went wrong in the cloning champers! 

(Yes I know stormtroopers are conscripted, not cloned, but who wouldn't want an opportunity to think about the new season of The Bad Batch, coming soon!)
