Day 28

My CX opened the latest member of my collection.  I read that the Sentinel was being discontinued, so I had to grab one.  Like a lot of Victorinox tools, the blade is pretty stiff. I can still open it one-handed as designed, but it is nowhere near as smooth as most of my Leathermans.

Day 28 Bonus Pic

Had to fix a broken sprinkler wire and the CX came in handy to cut the sheathing.

That is my impression as well. Congrats

One of the first Skeletools I showed in this challenge (all stainless) was a "go to" tool when I worked on my sprinklers too.  That thing was covered with mud and submerged in muddy water more times than I can count.

That is my impression as well. Congrats

Thank you  :hatsoff:

I’m afraid I’ve lacked the commitment to post daily photos through the month, but my Skeletool RX has been a constant companion through January.
It’s tightened screws, pulled bolts from tyres, opened boxes, and been standing by to break glass or cut seat belts at a moment’s notice.
I’ve had three days annual leave when it’s not been in my pocket (damn UK knife laws), but it’s been there for 26 shifts so far this year, including a night shift on New Year’s Day.

I’ve really enjoyed following this thread and seeing the pictures and uses.

Pardon the intrusion, but I've been lurking

Right on the heels of this challenge, there's another one coming up that might interest some of you.

The 30 Day Combo Edge Challenge.  Those of you that have a combo edge blade on your Skeletool, can join right in once you finish this challenge, and get yourself another badge.

Hope to see you there.

Day 29

I used the Skeletool to remove a lamp and its socket. The carabiner was helpful as I could just hook it onto my belt loop while working over my head :tu:

Day 30

Wow, this month flew by!  I have owned Skeletools for a long time, but this is the first time I have ever carried one for 30 days straight.  Overall, I think I like the Skeletool more than ever now.  I really appreciate the thinner size and lighter weight.  I suspect that the lighter-weight pliers are ill-suited for heavy jobs, but I used them several times over the last month and they suited me fine.  The lack of tools was the primary reason I haven't carried the Skeletool in the past, but I found my Micra to be a perfect compliment to the Skeletool - even together, the pair is a lighter, more comfortable pocket carry than most other multitools.  After most challenges, I stuff my multitool back into my collection, but I think I'm going to be carrying my Skeletool CX regularly now.

Thank you to nakken and MrT for joining me in this challenge, and thank you to everyone who posted Skeletool pictures or who just dropped by to chat!

Great pics and usage, nakken! I only tried the carabiner on my pants one time to test it, but it would certainly be more handy to clip it for easier access and I will need to try it. I also have thought clipping it to a convenient location next to or on the project could be helpful. I am worming overhead often enough and a simple screw or nail would do the trick.

Day 30

The one tool I did not use much was the pliers.  I was a little surprised by that,  but never came up for some reason.

Rich, thanks for setting this up. It was a great challenge and I had fun.  I have not regularly been a carrier of my Skeletool and I can see more days in my future rotation or as an additional secondary knife/MT to compliment a larger tool. I did miss my awl, saw and file but other than that,  this tool covered everything else nicely. I really like the bit exchanger with its spring assisted retention...I wish LM would add that to all of its MTs with the bit exchanger... adds for confidence that i will not lose a bit in some dark recess.  The CX was not as comfortable as other variants of LM MTs when using the driver. Nothing horrible or that would prevent me from using the tool in the future,   but I found some hot spots and it was noticeable when driving several screws.

Thanks again for a great challenge!!
