Sorry to read that…. They’re really not much use as a courier anymore, so why does Vic still use them - the 3-4 day shipping is absurdly inaccurate!

:iagree: +1 It awlways turns up but NEVER within the time stated. Usually 10 "working days" (or 2 weeks in old money)

TBF: It was the same before Brexit so I can only presume it is the carrier  :bnghd:
They don't like it up 'em!

I did not order any, but came here to echo the DHL frustration. Happens to me when I order from overseas, customs isnt the delay, it’s DHL.  I worked for a packaging company in the late aughts and I only remember setting out DHL for international because it was usually half the cost. It was so I frequent we had 1 day a week pickup. FedEx and UPS came once or twice daily.

I hope all get their Vic’s soon. Enjoying seeing the electric yellow.

Well….. I ordered a replica 1897 on Saturday, shipped Monday - ie “awaiting carrier pickup” on the Vic website. This morning I got an email from DHL saying they expected to deliver on Monday, just like last week’s LE 2023 delivery, so colour me surprised when the replica 1897 was delivered today, meaning it actually met the 3-4 delivery timeline! So it can be done….. Naturally the Vic website still has the “awaiting carrier pickup” status on it….   :poh:   Here’s a pic of the replica 1897 in any case.

It's been my experience that Victorinox uses a particular UPS service in the States. What It's called, I don't know, but they guarantee delivery on a certain day. Say delivery is scheduled for the 11th day of the month, but my hypothetical purchase arrives in my city early in the morning of the 10th day...they will not deliver it a day early. As irritating as that can be, they have nothing on DHL. No wonder DHL tanked in the States! :twak:

I've noticed that none of my favorite "general" knife retailers currently have the electric yellow Pioneer X in stock, but two of three still have the 1897 Replica. And none of them seem to want to give that Off White monstrosity the time of day.
USN 2000-2006

One to four layers of SAK is (usually) best for me.

Congratulations, Henry!   These 1897 LE's are awesome and must be appreciated in person.

I FOMOd in, couldn’t resist electric yellow. This would have been a nice color to get DLC blackout tools in my humble opinion.
