He took the leaked ARC graphics I posted here and used them on his YouTube channel without crediting this site.

I guess that my point was more that he never credits MTO for things when it needs to be

Looks like an old school pocket knife bail.

Leatherman Garage 4: A Waiter's Friend, if Camilus made them in 1950.

Hah! I completely forgot about a tool that I saw a fancy restaurant waiter used one time. I wonder if it will have a bread crumb scraper?

For those who know this man Steve Schwarzer, ABS Mastersmith at 3:00 he talks about giving credit where credit is due.  I am a firm believer of this.  I don't watch enough of Max videos to know if he does or doesn't.  I just know its always the right thing to do.  Mr Schwarzer says it better than I can.  Do the right thing and pay the credit when its due, and thats to everyone.  As Mr Schwarzer says, it doesn't make you less.

Maybe I should apologize. Looks like I have derailed the thread and gave the wrong credit. Again I am sorry for my ignorant remark.

Thanks folks.

So yeah the fun part of these Garage releases is the guessing the jigsaw pieces. So I’m betting on a plierless half tool of a sort with a bail.

OB, brother you are perfectly fine and if we didn't derail threads we wouldn't be MTO  :salute:.

Its about how to conduct oneself.  Its not about anyone specific, its anyone who doesn't give credit when due.  You had no clue because the info presented didn't give the proper credit.  One can say they didn't know which for me doesn't work.  If one is to present information then that information unless original needs to be credited.  It can be done many ways.  Its about integrity and honesty.  Its about making sure no one receiving the information thinks its original.  Its simple responsibility.  At least to me it is.

We've had similar issues come up before involving our members.  One member had pictures stolen and used in an ad campaign (topgear24).  We have SAKWIKI information used all the time in online auctions sites.  There are more instances.

OldBoy, Thank you.  You have reminded others who chose not to do their due diligence they will be called out, they should be called out.  MTO is a wealth of FREE information.  Access to it is FREE.  Membership is FREE.  Our members are very generous.  I don't think making sure to credit is a big deal.

Thank you.
Whew that’s crazy stuff. It’s the pics stolen that gets to me. I don’t know how many times people have taken credit for my work in the office.  It’s maddening because when you speak up you feel like you are in high school again.  :twak:

This new garage release is a fishing tool. It opens wine and doubles as a nail knot tying tool

I know about stolen photos and folks who give no credit. On the flip side, I just can't get excited about these Garage releases as Canadians are exempt from participating. I have the first release which cost me dearly. Soured me on all the others.

Back to the topic.  This one has me really curious.  It took me a while to get a Flair and while neat not a tool I ever used.

I wonder if Tim has sketches of tools he wanted to make but just didn't?  Were his designs always practical or did he have some far out ideas?

You don’t?   Nothing pairs better with that 5am early dawning light than a vintage Chablis… or are you supposed to wait until eating the fish? I get those confused, but with this next garage release it won’t matter I can drink my wine whenever I choose!

Now I really want to go fishing. I can’t wait until the spring spawn runs, those are fun river day trips.

I’d be surprised if it’s a knife. Just doesn’t make sense as a tribute to Tim’s European trip.

Why make a Swiss Army knife alternative and give it a name related to the moment he realised a plier-based tool is sometimes the answer?

Just curious, was what soured you was the quality? Out of all the releases I thought the 1st one was the best as it is the most innovative. The others seemed like “recycled” tools just made differently. I do regret not getting it but so far even my shelf queens will get rotated for usage but I was leery on plunking down all that money on a R & D tool that has not seen any hard use testing and other QCs.

It was the fact that they were only selling to the US but this release is going to be worldwide :salute:

I also agree that the Mr Crunch was the best Garage release  :like:

The Garage section was never on the old UK website, but since they changed distributors, it is in the new one.

Lots of people hammering the refresh button around the worlds tomorrow!

This is how much of a tool nerd I am. On the 1st release I actually stayed up until midnight hammering that refresh button. Sadly never worked. I think it showed up around 7 am PST.

Even more sad, I never had the intention to buy it, I just wanted to see.

I was  :( .  Talk about mixed feelings.

What funny is I'm not collecting like I was.  When G1 dropped I was interested but not tempted.  After seeing it and hearing the excitement I got sucked in

The last ones didn't do much for me.  The Orange G10 recently disco'd was one that got me  :woohoo:, I didn't bite tho.

I am very curious tho what this tool will be.  I sure hope its funky as heck.  I can't believe these Garage tools are being used so the crazier the design the more fun, thats how I see it.
