Polishing without damaging design/logo
on: January 08, 2023, 01:52:09 PM
Hello! I'm a new member and owner of few Victorinox knives. Recently I received a gift Workchamp and I'm in love with it, that made me go look and find other Victorinox knives my family has, but doesnt use and I found one small 58mm Classic knife with a nice design, but unfortunatelly the scales are little scratched up. I would like to polish it up and maybe start a small collection, but I'm little scared of damaging the design. Is there a way to safely polish it, without damaging it?

Not too sure, but I kind of doubt it. Maybe just the edges. You could try a cloth with polishing compound on it lightly and see.

Wow, I've wanted one of these to do a scale swap with a MiniChamp.  Unfortunately, the limited editions, such as this one won't take much polishing before the image is damaged.   It's really a shame that Victorinox can't do something to better protect them.

Anyone else see the owl? Can't unsee it now

The printed designs do have a protective layer added in production, but it looks like your example has seen quite a bit of use and wear. I would try a gentle polish (such as liquid car polish) with a microfiber cloth to just get a little shine back without taking off more of the logo, or expecting to fix the scratches. Just a gentle shine will make a world of difference.

And welcome to  :MTO:
