I should be taking a run to Home Depot on Friday, so I could look for one of those Nite Ize tools. And good point about OPTs being suited for things knife blades are not...I broke off at least one tip when I was a dumb kid.

Here is an OPT from the Utility Series sold at Walmart. Meh... I think the Nite Ize and True Utility OPTs are better than this.

Let's not forget the barely detectable and entire ineffective "file" on the back of the tool:

Here’s a circa 1970s (my best guess) OPMT called the GasHopper.  I picked it up at a flea market for a dollar or two.

The primary function appears to be holding up the handle on a gas pump (which presumably dates it to a period after automatic shutoff became common but before the integrated clips were widespread), and it features three different flow rates.

In addition, it has a bottle opener, can opener, flat screwdriver, and hole for keychain carry.

It is quite thin by modern OPMT standards, but seems well-made.

I have to backtrack just a bit in my assessment of this tool. My apprentice was having a hard time removing the grille of a ceiling speaker that needed to be demoed. So, I jumped up on the ladder and quickly saw that something thin was needed to slide in between the grille and the outer ring of the speaker so that the grille could be levered out.

I had two things on me I could use. My knife or this cheap OPT that was in my Maxpedition  :tu:

I used my pliers to tap the tool in the space between the grille and ring and then popped it out  :2tu:

I like the mullet.  I'm currently carrying mine so I am not tempted to do something stupid with the wrong tool.

Pretty awesome those also came in various finishes.

5.11 EDT Multitool

This one is not bad either. I couldn't drive a Phillips screw, but I don't expect an OPT to replace all my tools.

Nice collections, guys. :hatsoff:

Can I play too? :D

I don't have a large collection like some of you, not that much into OPT, I have a Nite Ize Doohickey, half a dozen PW2s (my OPT of choice), a CountyComm medium prybar and this one

Timberline 4905 keychain mini knife

The edge is not sharp enough to cut skin, but it can open boxes. I like this tool also. I can see it being handy at times.

Yes, it's a MTO prototype, regretfully never went into production, but still available on his shapeways

https://www.shapeways.com/product/FCMTW2NCW/mt-o-prybar-tool-3mm?optionId=40978952&li=shops

Here it is with his bigger brother that was part of a pass around back then. Don't know where that one ended up.
