DAY 08

Had car trouble today and worked from home for a change. Used the little blade on some package and the large Blade to slice me a sandwich for lunch. I tried to use the awl to pop out a starter relay on my Honda but didn't work out as planned n will need some needle nose to retrieve that stubborn relay
Thought I would add an eyeglass driver to the corkscrew to move forward

For what I am capable of the Camper keeps me out of more trouble than I care to be in.

Wait... what day are we on??   :dunno:

Edit - I see what happened. I have two "Day 5" entries, for the record. It seems to be too late to edit those posts.

Had car trouble today...
Hope that's been sorted out!

Day 08

Another sideways day in the Dusty Desert. My Camper was used to cut me up some vittles and the can opener was used to check the tightness of some of Philips screws, and they were indeed tight.

Glad I have something so slim in my pocket lately. Liking my Camper experience.

I like the slimness as well, the saw layer packs quite a punch for how thin it is. Also, didn’t you already have day 8?

DAY 09

Used the main blade to cut open a ton of plastic and cardboard from a new mattress that got delivered. It was a bunch of cutting but the camper handled it flawlessly. Here it is after a fresh sharpen.  8)

Sent from the Dusty Desert

I can relate, this month has been a bit sideways for me so far.

I have a few takeaways on this challenge so far. First is I never really paid attention to them, but the camping scales are really cool, I may be going on a hunt for a knife that has them.

Second is, on my urban days of commuting to the office, sitting at computers, visiting industrial facilities etc. the wood saw has not been useful. In the future I want to make a mod that swaps the ws for the MS/file and call it the urban camper.

For me the saw is one of those things that I don't need all the time but when I do need it, I really NEED it. If that makes any sense at all. Plus, I like the small bit of extra thickness it gives the SAK when using other tools.

Yeah that makes sense, most days I go outside the saw ends up coming in use. Also, I completely agree at the thickness in the hand - three layers sits in my palm much better than a 2 or 1 layer and makes hard knife use much more pleasant.

Day 10:

Today the small blade was used to trim the edges off some tape repairs I was making.

I would love one of those. Also, one with the Philips driver.

Day 11

Decided to get my camper back to some original scales, always nice to change it up and then come back. Today I used the can opener to tighten some Philips head screws on a bunk bed, corkscrew to untie some leather knots, and small blade to trim some leather on a pendulum project for my son. Decent end to a crazy week, have a good weekend everyone.

Looks good with its new scales! Is that a grooved corkscrew?

Day 11

A new credit card arrived today. I used the small blade to free it from the envelope. Of course, the action shot was a blurry mess.

Day 11

No uses today. I took my Camper along on my date with my wife this evening but its services were not required.

There’s a good chance the wood saw will see some real action this weekend though!

How do you keep it so clean?

I'm hoping for some saw action very soon, too!

That would be neat, none of my SAKs are old enough for that. Based on the tang stamp this Camper is the current stamp post 2011.

That white camper was a gift from my wife so I tend to just carry it on a clip in my pocket and it hasn’t really seen any heavy use- actually this challenge is the first time I’ve really carried it . The white scales have definitely held up well however I’m one of those SAKholes  who wipes down their knife at the end of each day with a clean cloth  :ahhh Keeps them looking Beautiful.

Day 12

It was a pleasant day with the Camper, went hiking and explored some new areas, worked on a sak mod, and then peeled some oranges for after dinner snacks.

Used the bottle opener flathead to tighten several cabinet knobs and drawer pulls in the kitchen at the wife’s request.

Day 12 cont.

I used the cab opener to open an actual can!

I use the can opener for all kinds of things but it’s rare for me to open an actual can of food with it.

(Black beans for some veggie chili!)
