A new Tinker Small and this S101 came in the mail today. Not sure what to think of the S101 yet but I'll pack it a while and see how well we get along.

I actually really like the Evolution scales. It makes me sad the Delemont line is going away...  :(

My favorite Evo is the S18.  I had a Patagonia edition several years ago but moved it on.  My oldest, Noah, hooked me up with this one!  He has the Evolution edition from Vic.  This is a Vic era Wenger.

I am getting my lineup ready for the month. I think the S14 may be the one I carry mostly. I didn’t really get along with the Evo scales so here is mine with some custom scales. Do mods count in this challenge or stock models only?

There is something about the Evolution scales which make them seem kind of rebellious, almost punk when you compare them to the regular Victorinox scales, which are all about nearly straight lines and highly symmetrical.  Staid and straight and conservative and square.  The Evos don't even lie flat!  There are no real flat surfaces and the entire scale has a "C" shape rather than a bar shape - somehow reminds me of a hand-rolled joint.  Plus the wild colors and two-toned scales!   The blades are thinner but also fatter. Ya gotta love 'em.

I stand corrected.  This has a corkscrew, which makes it an Evo 17.  I like the corkscrew...great for taking out knots!

:iagree: completely.  Almost an Art Deco look.  Definitely stylish!  Next to Opinel, I'm a huge Wenger fan!

I am going to carry my Small Tinker with Micarta scales.

Hopefully mods are fine, would imagine so long as they are 84/85mm SAK based it’s ok.

It's a bit of a long story, but suffice it to say I'm gonna be bowing out. Timing just isn't on my side for a June challenge. We'll have to see if I'll be in for the Dean challenge in July.

An S101. Arrived last week!

Then monitoring a Evo14 on the auction site, placed a rediculous  low bid before grandson 8th grade graduation presentation and forgot about it.   Then later read I was highest bid. To arrive next week🤪

What did I sign myself up for, hoped to complete with No New (to me) knives. Two added

I like the knives involved in this challenge  (and have something like 17 of them) but am not able to commit to posting pics every day.  Out in the country, nobody else to take care of things, stuff happens and I get busy.  I don't care about badges (sacrilege, I know) but I would like to chime in occasionally as a sort of honorary participant.  Is that allowed?

I´m not yet certain. I don´t like suspending my usual EDC for a whole month even though I like the 84/85 mm range.
I´ll decide tomorrow.

Top row (Wenger) : Evo63, Evo17, Blackout 63ST, Commander, Forester.
Bottom row (Victorinox) : Waiter, Walker, Evowood 10, Sportsman, Tourist

Day 0

I thought I had maybe four or five  84s, and one 85. Well, I was right about one part. Not sure exactly what my carry strategy will be. It's not enough to do 30 days 30 SAKs, but too many for a knife a week like I often do for these challenges. I guess we'll see what calls me every morning. Maybe I'll find a new favorite.

This is the first challenge I have taken part in so forgive my silly question but.....

Maybe this was already explained and I missed it,, are we supposed to post a picture every day for 30 days of the 84/85 mm we are carrying? Or do we just carry it for 30 days and post a few pics?

Thanks

Post a picture EVERY day, of your carry choice, and or better yet, that choice being used.

To help track your postings it makes it easier if you include a number, such as day 1 of 30 or just day 1, 2, 3 etc etc.

There are several models available. With a variety of tools and one person may have a trick they may implement with the awl, and others may learn from that share.

It is not very difficult, just a bit of discipline👍

With several members involved this will be fun and you will finish with new online friends.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

One pic a day for 30 days. Action shots if you use it, glamour shots if you don't.  Each days post should document which day you are on ( 1 of 30,,,,, 2 of 30 etc. ) and a brief description of the knife used ( Victorinox  Cadet,,, Wenger Swiss Sportsman, etc)

Just have fun with your daily posts and enjoy everyone else's posts too. See you tomorrow.
