Day 6

Well, the Tinker Small got some action today!

License plates for the wife’s new car came in the mail.

In Oregon we have a plate on both the front and the rear of a vehicle and they attach with Phillips screws. So I did the front plate with the 2D driver on the can opener…

And I used the back Phillips for the rear license plate.

As usual, the back Phillips was… adequate and the 2D Phillips was much easier to use. I actually think the back Phillips works better on the 84mm SAKs. After all, it’s 7mm shorter so there’s 7 fewer millimeters of handle to bump into things when using the t-shaped driver.

But when using the 2D Phillips, I think I might prefer the 91mm size. The slightly larger tool and just a bit more grip would have been nice for this particular job.

No use, so have a close up of the minidriver. I like the current one much better than the older versions, which always looked like a cheap knockoff to me.

Day 6

Putting a red dot on my 5.7.

Turns out the backside Phillips and the Can Opener don’t work very well as a small hex driver.

Knife worked great to open the box I guess.

Of course I had the wrong size screws……

A Cadet made it into my pocket today. Works well in dress slacks and vanishes.
Only used the nail file at the end of the day.

Had a major issue on a pair of old scissors...
Ouch! Hope they had a screw in the pivot point.

The Cadet opened a bottle of motivation  :drink:

That tank looks neat!
It's awlso been fairly easy to assemble. Before too long, I'll be done!

Day 6

Quite obviously, it was a no-use day. Maybe tomorrow I'll open up some boxes that the Jungle Store keeps delaying. :twak:

Day 7 Pt2

I have to crush up two heart tablets for Coco twice a day, they’re quite large and after a while the dry powder sticks on tight to the bottom and sides, gumming up the crusher and stopping it from working properly

Wanted to use something to get rid of the dried on stuff that wouldn’t scratch it up so tried the nail file on a Wenger Traveler, worked a charm

Before, during and after :tu:

They have the exact same set of tools but (unlike many so I noticed) I prefer the flat scales.

DAY 06
fell asleep early last night so this one is a wee bit late.
Busy day yesterday. Forgot to bring the cadet to PT but it later accompanied me on a walk, and then later used the main blade to poke some holes in more seedling pots.

Interesting...do other states only have a front or rear plate then  :dunno:

In the UK only motorbikes have a single plate (rear) otherwise it's front and rear for cars, trucks etc (except the King he doesn't have plates on his official runabout)
They don't like it up 'em!

Day 7 of 30:
Last day of school before summer break. This year had been a tough one. We, as a society, really need some parents to start parenting their kids and stop being best friends or absent altogether. I've heard of so many amazing teachers walking away from their profession to find something new because kids are so horrible to deal with these days. Anyways, 3 months of freedom with my wife and kids! I can't wait!

I'm carrying my Cadet today. Getting on some Bible study and coffee. Have a great day, everyone!

It was a screw but the threading was completely smoked. I was able to take some brass pin from a 58mm and peen the scissors back, worked quite well.

Unfortunately I have had some personal things pop up and will not be able to finalize this challenge. I will still follow along as I can. Good luck to all

Interesting...do other states only have a front or rear plate then  :dunno:

In the UK only motorbikes have a single plate (rear) otherwise it's front and rear for cars, trucks etc (except the King he doesn't have plates on his official runabout)

Out of 50 states in the USA, there are roughly 20 of them that only have a license plate on the rear of the vehicle. Until 2021, when we moved to Oregon, I lived my entire life in states that only required a single plate on the back. So it was an interesting change for me.

My vehicle didn't even have a mounting point on the front of the car for a license plate at all. When I called a local dealership, they spoke to me like I was crazy or something. So I ended up taking some sheet metal screws and, uh... making my own holes in the front bumper of the car!  :dunno:

DAY 7

In a double whammy for today I used my only Wenger (wood handled) and covered two bases  :2tu:

I used the scissors to remove a price tag on a lightweight jacket. I'd never noticed the serrated blade until now, despite having read about it several times (I think I just imagined it being more...serrated   ::)

DAY 7  Today I shot one of my old muzzleloaders.  While cleaning it,  I had the brilliant idea to use the corkscrew on my Adirondack to clean and dry the threads in the drum!   :nanadance:   I don't know why I never thought of this before.
