I'm planning a trip to Lowe's in the next few weeks, and I was looking at their knife selection.
Normally, Kobalt's own-brand folders kinda suck when I compare them to even my $30 CRKTs. I've given most that I had (aside from my utility knives) away.
I noticed they have a pair with D2 blades with an $30 MSRP.
The 3" blade model has a profile that looks a little too much like the Milwaukee Fastback Tanto. If this comes from the same factory, then I'm sure it's a really good knife; as the Milwaukee is one of the few el-cheapos I've used the snot out of and it's pulled through without one problem.
The 2.5" is a little reminiscent of the CRKT Squid.
I think these look like pretty promising budget folders, and may end up buying both next month when I go.
