I have a Companion, Basic 546, and Pro. Absolutely great knives.

However, the Basic and Pro have a small gap between the base of the handle and the sides of the blade where water can and does get into. It's only a very narrow gap, but I think I should fill it somehow.

I'm debating trying to melt the handle into the sides of the blade, or fill it with hot glue or something that has a bit of give to it. Any ideas?

Sorry I missed this the first time.  I would close that gap for sure.  I don't think I'd melt the handle tho.  Hot glue does seem the easiest and should work.  If not then you can move on to epoxy.  Good luck if you haven't already fixed this.

Found this MORA CLUB yesterday, so gathered up my current group for a picture.

This is my latest, I believe it is a #1, but other 1s I have seen do not have the finger guard!
The person I purchased from was not aware of the model and indicated the sheath was new as he neglected the first one. But assured me the knife was always cleaned and oiled after any use.  Any help confirming or correcting will be appreciated.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Great collection.  The Mora in question is a #2.  The blade length should be 105mm overall length 215mm.  Its a great one from Mora as are all the classics IMO.  Nice sheath too as its the newer one.

Mora Companion Heavy Duty.
I made a handle for it and a left handed leather sheath.

A very nice enhancement to a great knife, making it near perfect.

I had read just last night, that handles originally were made with mahogany, then when difficult to obtain, switch to birch, and painted or stained red to resemble mahogany.
And then finally, the present handles seen today.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Mora Garberg Multi-Mount sheath
Reply #1876 on: April 13, 2023, 10:43:33 PM
If anyone has a Mora Garberg with the Multi-Mount sheath, here is a quick fix so that you can use the ring with the snap and and the ring with the belt loop at the same time without the ring with the belt loop being loose. Just cut a piece of duct tape the same width as the ring with the belt loop and tape it on the inside of the ring and then slide it on the sheath. It will now be snug enough to not slip off.
