Interestingly, to me at least, not what I really think of when I think of Opi’s but two of my faves nonetheless

They're both very good knives with multiple uses built in.

A great thing about the DIY is that the plastic handle doesn't ground, making it good for household electric tasks.  I installed an outlet with mine a few years ago.  Like the Center Drive, if you have a bit kit you're in business!

Not trying to be an enabler, having had to bail out the challenge, but as I saw many of you from the US, I just wanted to put this out there for you Americans :

DAY 29

Celebrating my birthday (yes I know it was on the 25th, but today is a day that I am not working).

So went with the lovely wife and two screaming children to Leeds Castle, for a picnic (where the No8 was used), and then off chasing the little ones around the play parks.

A GREAT DAY gra_farmer!

Enjoy the family, hug often!  Then repeat!

Besides your wife is a WINNER!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 28

No7 took the call again today!  Rode the pocket without complaint!  No action as of late this evening.

Took a seat in the lap of a Frankenbear

That's a neat bear.

Thank you :hatsoff:

A gift a while back from my MOM!  Anything HALLOWEEN related found its way to me, as that is my birthday!  I have a few others that I should gather together for a family photo of sorts.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 29

A morning of driving around, delivered daughter’s birthday treat and card, and then lunch, and then stop by Menards for brushes to finish my Opinel No9.

And of gorse a walk down the hand tool  aisle…
A cute 5” clamping pliers was screaming at me that I needed it!!!

My No8 had no issues releasing its zip tie cuffs,

Those are all pretty cool.  I wonder if being next to Kansas is enough to warrant getting one.

Day 29

Overcast, windy and pleasant Friday.  No.8 in its naturally habitat.

You guys across the pond are so lucky. We can just go to a castle for the heck of it, must be nice. Closest castle type thing I think we have is Castillo de San Marcos in Saint Augustine

Opinel '24 Day 29
My 3 pocket sized Opinels, the No8 wine cask oak, the purple No8 garden knife, and the orange No8 pruning knife just hanging around.  I didn't own any before this challenge was announced and I'm glad to have them now.  I will probably try a No9 next.

Day 30

I knew I’d enjoy this challenge and it didn’t disappoint, thanks everyone and many thanks to Barry for all his comments and encouragement :tu:

Not sure what’s happened to FarmerX who originally suggested the challenge, hope alls well with him

I got my first Opi, a #9 Carbone, 15 or more years ago but it’s the 7 or 8 in stainless steel that I use daily in the kitchen, swapping between them every few months

During the combo edge challenge I carried the 8 outdoor a fair amount and it’s become a real fave, I really like the DIY too

Here’s the family :tu:

Day 30

 my friend and it was a great time!  I've been a fan of the Opinel knife for awhile now.  Truth be told, it and an Alox Minichamp are almost always on me.  Everything else short of a challenge is up to what mood I'm in.
I haven't seen or heard from Farmer in quite awhile.  I hope he's okay too.
This is a great crew to do a challenge with!  Thanks for a great time!
