Day 8

It's not a proper challenge without a pic of the challenge tool opening the package of a new knife or tool.

I decided to see what the hype about GEC knives was all about.  I did a lot of research on what pattern would be right for me, and I finally decided on a #6 Pemberton - the size is just about perfect for me, I like the combination of blades, and it looks very nice.  It took me awhile to find one without a super-ridiculous markup, and I finally found one with just a ridiculous markup   I really like it - it's an incredible little pocketknife 😍  That said, other than having better blade steal, it's very similar in look, feel, and "fit and finish" to my Case knives.  I'm glad I bought it, and I love having it as part of my collection, but I doubt I'll buy another.

(Image removed from quote.)

Congratulations for acquiring a GEC without having to take out a 2nd mortage  :ahhh  :D

We need to see those Case knives over in the traditional thread   :pok:

Apparently this board shows all the tools you need to buy if you don’t have a Surge.
They should include safety glasses...or did I miss those?

Speaking of overkill, the Surge blade is almost longer than this package is wide  :o

Day Ten

Using the pliers to take apart an old rotten garden chair.

Still good enough for the fire pit, but nothing else.

More and more great pics, peeps :woohoo: I am glad to be following along but I don't know if I would want to carry this beast for a month  of course sheath carrying would definitely make it easier for me  Glad you all are doing so well 8) :like: :like:

Day 10
The serrated blade doesn't work too well on palm fronds, but with the Surge we have options.  The saw zips through palm fronds with little effort.

I used the Surge to strip the sheathing off of this Romex cable:

It is overly large to be used efficiently in this manner

The Surge helped me replace a shower head today.  A surprise use was using the awl to remove the old plumbers tape.

Day 10

One of thing things I like most about the Surge is the blade exchanger. I use a saw regularly and being able to swap the file is awesome. Just a close up of the exchanger.

:iagree: on the pics. The pocket clip for me makes pocket carry easy and comfortable. I hate using sheaths personally.
