Day 1

During the work week, I carry this Nite-Ize pouch on my belt with a MT in it. The Surge fits in it nicely.

The problem will be on the weekends when I have to carry the Surge in my pocket, though I may opt to use a sheath.

Day 1

This is my Surge.  There are many like it, but this one is mine.   ;)

I bought this Surge, and I think I carried it for about an hour before I decided it was too large and heavy to carry in my pocket.  I put together a kit for it (shown) and put it in my car for emergencies.  I haven't touched it since  :ahhh   I plan on pocket carrying this beast for the next 30 days (just the Surge - no kit), which will be especially difficult since I just finished carrying the feather-light Squirt.  I hope the Surge doesn't pull my pants down  :ahhh

Day 1

I just got back from a drill. Apparently my gear make for an excellent bed.

I have debated a surge for a while now, but it just seems unnecessarily large for my needs.  I like the idea of the blade exchanger, awl, and robust scissors, and could have used those plenty of times over. I do have some mods for my Wave I’ll hopefully get to soon to make a sort of mini surge.

I’ll be following along interested to see how you folks get along using it. Perhaps I’ll be swayed by the end of the month.

Bonus Pics.
I replaced an electrical service at an older farmhouse today, and the Surge came in handy a couple of times:

However, the large and weighty Surge could not help with certain items, requiring me to pull out a tool that makes the mighty Surge look like a pipsqueak:

Day Two

I massacred some 20+ feet tall conifers in my Mum’s garden this afternoon.

The Surge didn’t make this cut, but it got involved with some of the smaller stuff.

Day Three

First night shift of seven, so a vital job for the Surge - opening a bag of freshly roasted coffee. Roasted on Wednesday, delivered on Friday, opened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Putting together some furniture for my stepson and granddaughter:

By the way, the heft of the Surge is handy when it comes to tapping in dowels:
