The black one is a Walther where unfortunately the Walther logo is worn off. Only when you hold it in the light a certain way you can still vaguely see the contours of the logo.

Not entirely, there are some variations in scales that I don’t have (like the Brookstone mauser-variation) and there are one or more releases with clip point blades from (iirc) Swiss Bianco that I am still missing.

I may be questionable!

The knife I have is called the Day tripper or Packer.

I’ve been having a little break from challenges (having done something like 20 back to back) but go on then, why not :D

As I’m doing the Opi challenge in March, I’ll start a day early if that’s ok….although being in Sydney I’m already almost a day ahead of some you so probably not an issue

Time to polish the GAK :tu:

OK, rereading this thread and Wiki site, my Day Packer is in fact a 100mm.   👍

In the OHT currently and the Opinel in March. Nothing to in  February  so now I do!!!

DAY 00
Not really part of the official start to the challenge.  Just a pre-game warmup.  Enginears told me that he was starting this early to get the thread bumped up.  So, I will do my part.  Either Day 00 or Day minus 1.  A photo I took some time back.  It has a Bijou (that I am carrying today for the Classic challenge) and a GAK which I will be using beginning Feb. 1.
Still time to sign up if you want in, or update your commitment if you haven't already done that.  Could be a lot of fun.  Best wishes.  G

Day -01

Since I have the day off tomorrow (after doing challenges 10 or 11 months last year, and already having 3 months straight penciled in this year) getting to carry whatever for a day is kind of a treat. Stepping outside my usual, here's my "freedom day" carry: a PSTII and the return of my Executive to my keychain. The Exec will probably stay as my trusty backup most of the month.

BPRoberts, Enjoy your free carry day! I see you are a fellow carabiner user. Do you like the setup shown there? I usually have one for my keys, and one for my SAK, then a bigger one for clipping things to my bag.

I was on the fence about this challenge, but decided to join in.  I’ll be starting tomorrow 1/31, so that I can do my Day 30 on 2/29 and start my prior commitment to the March Opinel challenge on 3/1.

Day 1

Although I’ll mostly be using 108mm for the challenge, thought you might enjoy seeing some 100mm mod 08 soldiers, I enjoy showing them either way :pok:

I’m sure you’ll see more of them throughout the month

DAY 1
I think Nate may have had a good idea about posting a day earlier, so the finish date won't spill over into March.  Might as well put up a photo.
At least this will serve to keep the challenge bumped up.  Best wishes G

I only got it about a week ago, but I'm liking it so far. I have also done the biner-to-biner thing in the past, but this takes up a lot less bulk in my pocket.

I vaguely thought about starting early before bed last night, but then I forgot this morning and grabbed the PSTII since I left it on the dresser. A wise move though. I guess I'll be in pan-European mode on March 1st with a Swiss made German army knife and a French Opi.

] Day 1

Broke a DAY PACKER from its display card this afternoon.

In the day I bought maybe a half dozen when on sale and introduced at Menards as a holiday special.

Many were gifted, have 3 left and selected the Red as I have 2!hh

So, today is the 1st day to carry this knife. My 2nd Vic Clip blade.

Looking good, Gordon.  It looks like several have opted for the early voting in this district.  I had rather start a day early than finish in March.  Might have something else to do then.  I hadn't touched my 108 for a while.  Between challenges, I carried a Huntsman and a Spartan some.  And a Leatherman.
I got the old beast out and gave the blade a few whacks on my lovely old Schrade Old Timer Honesteel.  Sliced a little paper.  It cut okay.  Took a little time and cleaned it up some.  The GAK not the Honesteel.  I guess we will see who shows up for the challenge tomorrow.  Best wishes.  G

Excited to see how the pruners fare. We don't see a ton of Vic non-multitools. They're a nice size, and you get some interesting blade styles.
