The trail camera is out there in the cold rain today, Gordon.  There are some bears around.  Sometimes they find a trail camera and give it a crunch to see if it has anything edible inside.  It is up in the woods today.  I will post some stills if anything happens to walk within range.
I looked around a little for the badge but didn't find it.  If anybody does find it, please tell me what page of the awards list it is on.  Best wishes.  G

I think your badge is on page 9, ‘the Vintage SAK’

It is a very nice looking piece.  And do not recall seeing it before.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I would be fine with that badge, actually.  However I have seen it before.  Also, it would disqualify the 100mm users since many of those knives were not pre-1986 manufacture.  My understanding is that Comis had made a new badge for this challenge.  Best wishes.  G

You are most likely 100% correct.
When I looked yesterday I thought I would need to apply for the ‘single layer SAK’ badge.

Unless a specific badge will be made available for this challenge, I think it depends on which knives you used to decide which of the existing badges you may claim?

If you used only pre 1986 SAKs: Vintage SAK challenge badge
If you used only 108mm but not sure if they're all pre-1986: Discontinued SAK challenge badge
If you only used 100mm Soldier: Soldier Challenge badge

And if all else failes: they're all Swiss, so the Country of Origin Challenge badge may also apply?

I think I will wait and see what develops.  Until Enginears makes a clarification anyway.  I have a Country of Origin badge already, but would be happy with one of the others.  There was sort of a general agreement in the Country of Origin that we wouldn't use Swiss knives and in fact nobody did.  It wasn't put in the requirements for a badge however.  Best wishes.  G

   All.
The new badge looks great. Comis has done a bang up job, I hope you all like adding it to your sashes.

I hear (see) what you are indicating Glen, just looking for what Enginears reported. 😎😄

Hang tight friends, there will be a specific 100/108 30 day badge coming soon to the available badges. I will update once I hear word and we can request it.

Day 30

Crossover day! Opted to carry my smallest Opi (No4) since I have the larger SAK today. I'll step up to a larger Opinel tomorrow (and maybe put an SAK back on the keychain, haven't made up my mind yet).

I think my thoughts largely match Gary's on the 108mm platform. Scales are grippy and durable, blade size is great, SAWmbo tool is surprisingly capable. When I did the colored alox challenge last year, I commented that I feel like the 93mm platform is kind of awkwardly in middle. They're tougher than the 91s, but still still a little on the small side, and don't have the same tool assortment. I think the 108s are hitting more the niche that I want them to, and it's a shame Vic never did more with the platform. They've still got the thicker steel, and (while not as tough as alox) tougher scales at least, but the basic GAK has more tools than most of the 93mm range and a little extra blade length.

It's a shame we'll never get an 3 layer with the Aitor combo tool, or (really dreaming now...) a four layer with scissors. Part of me wonders if it'd be possible to mod in the Aitor combo. Maybe someday...

Happy riding along with all of you, especially Engi for hosting (especially after we made you move it 12 times). Lots of fun challenges happening in March, excited to see what people have to show off.

First off  :salute: to all those who participated in this fun Challenge.  What a great way to highlight a SAK that might not get the love it deserves.  A big thank you to Enginears for hosting this Challenge and to all those who joined in and followed along.

comis is our resident badge maker so a huge Thank you to him for responding to Enginears request for this badge.  He did a great job and it will go live just as soon as possible.  comis is wonderfully generous with his time and I for am grateful to him.

Enginears will as he said follow up with when the badge goes live I just wanted to pop in and say  :hatsoff: to you all.

Як по-мені, то у чоловіка має бути декілька ножів;)

In my opinion, a man should have several knives;)
