Anyone uses those Limited Edition Orange ones as a daily beaters, or they sit in a box for photo and admiring purposes?

Mine is a drawer queen but the one I gave my son gets carried daily.

Mine also resides comfortably in a drawer—a designated “orange Alox” drawer, in my case. Last October’s “Old Cross Challenge” renewed my deep and abiding love for the OC Pioneer, so it gets pride of place in my pocket most days.

if i understand correctly, there are multiple orange alox pieces in there, not just this PioneerX LE.
If so, i wouldn't mind sneaking a peak, so feel free to post the pic of the insides of that dedicated drawer.

Beautiful...

I love Orange, but I have a family member that says I am already "collecting" to much BS without ever using it :)

What to do, what to do? :)

This came today from Blade Center. I got it for $44.99. I like that it’s about the same size as a Compact.

the difficulty with mods is that it voids warranty's and I prefer to have my knives covered by Victorinox and their workmanship has always been done well for my liking and at very reasonable prices. Thanks Victorinox for not being greedy gougers like some other slip joint knife maker's like one's in the U.S. that want to use U.S. made as if it has some kind of significance in quality.

Zoidberg and Ben, I am curious if the Pioneer XS mod is still in use? And your long term thoughts on it.  I have considered it on paper but am still in the honeymoon phase with the PX. I haven’t even really carried it due to doing other challenges.  A 2 layer alox with scissors is mighty tantalizing.

Yes absolutely, three plus years now and still loving it.
Unless I'm in a challenge I rarely carry anything else.
I have the same in 91mm and one of these days I'll do it to my cadet.

Couple things to think about with the PX version.
The scissor nail nick is on the other side.
While you can get used to it I prefer the 91mm side.
Easy enough to swap the scissors out.
Secondly the spring tension is much more than needed.
Removing a little from the scissor back spring or scissors pivot area makes them a lot more user friendly.

Thank you, good to know. The action on the scissors out of the box is unlike any of my 91mm scissors the way it has tons of snap and tension when opening, but it is pretty weak closing unless I give it a push. Maybe it just needs some breaking in. I think this mod is in my future at some point, and I may try to do pivots instead of peening.

I've got these two, and the more I carry them, the more I like them. I do miss the scale tools, though. I've been wanting a plain silver PX and was thinking about dropping that hint for Father's day. But now I'm wondering if I should go Farmer X since I've already got these two PX's. Any input?

I’d go for the FX MTSAK, I’m a big fan of both models but the saw doesn’t add much thickness or weight and will give you a different model to enjoy
I get around the missing scale tools by carrying a Rambler or Manager on my keychain

That's what I was thinking. I always carry a Minichamp, Rambler, or Classic as well. I just like the bigger scale tools in a 91mm.
