I understand completely. Jump in when you can! This is going to be fun challenge, so don't worry. It's all about having fun with a first class multi tool.
Awesome! Which model did you opt for? Interested in your thoughts once you have it in hand!
Hmm it would be fun to use first 30 days spearpoint bladed spirit and other 30 with butterknife.(Image removed from quote.)Only Tools Matters
I went with the Spirit MXBS. I like the idea of the one handed opening of the blades.(Image removed from quote.)
I am going to rotate through my different variants. Been looking forward to this one since announced! Excited to see everyone's pictures and read the comments.
Day 0: My tool of choice!
I love Coco in the challenge - we should come up with a pet in challenge badge! Coco seems to like the Spirit!

I see that yours is one of the "newer" Spirits with the butter blade Barry. It has the newer handle logos. I've been wondering when the transition of the logos occurred, and when the deletion of the shield on the plier head occurred as well. Maybe there will be enough Spirits in the challenge that we might be able to figure that out. I don't think it's documented anywhere at this point.I believe my OG Spirit is a fairly old one, having bought it in 2005 or so for $45, but I don't think much has changed at all since then except the markings and the blades (and the price!). Of course, the order of the tools is a bit different between the models as well.EDIT: I see back on page one of this thread, HarleyXJGuy mentions his "very old" Spirit, and it has what I thought was the newer handle logo, with the shield and "VICTORINOX" on separate lines. It was my impression that the older ones all had the shield and brand on one line, with the "V" larger than the other letters. This makes things a bit more interesting...
