I understand completely.  Jump in when you can!  This is going to be  fun challenge, so don't worry.  It's all about having fun with a first class multi tool.

This is 60 days, but it can be divided into a 30 day challenge in case someone can't make the first half or has to leave after the first 30 days.

Hmm it would be fun to use first 30 days spearpoint bladed spirit and other 30 with butterknife.

I went with the Spirit MXBS. I like the idea of the one handed opening of the blades.

That's a great choice Pacu :tu:

:iagree: That sounds like fun!  Two completely different blades.  I might ask my son to switch with me and do the same thing.

The MXBS is my favorite Spirit for edc.

I too am looking forward to this.  For me the MXBS will probably see the most use with XBS making appearance when I need a saw.

That would be interesting. I know I would run into a dilemma: The butter blade would make quick work of both the Halloween pumpkins and carving the thanksgiving Turkey… decisions, decisions… in all seriousness i might give it a go. I’d be interested to see if I need one over the other.

Day 0

Here are the three in my rotation, but the MX Clip will be by far the most used.  For 10 days in October I'll be at the cabin in CO closing it up for the season and that's the one I'll have with me.  There will be some nice pics of the MX in the Rockies.

Day 0:  My tool of choice!

I see that yours is one of the "newer" Spirits with the butter blade Barry.  It has the newer handle logos.  I've been wondering when the transition of the logos occurred, and when the deletion of the shield on the plier head occurred as well.  Maybe there will be enough Spirits in the challenge that we might be able to figure that out.  I don't think it's documented anywhere at this point.

I believe my OG Spirit is a fairly old one, having bought it in 2005 or so for $45, but I don't think much has changed at all since then except the markings and the blades (and the price!).  Of course, the order of the tools is a bit different between the models as well.

EDIT:  I see back on page one of this thread, HarleyXJGuy mentions his "very old" Spirit, and it has what I thought was the newer handle logo, with the shield and "VICTORINOX" on separate lines.  It was my impression that the older ones all had the shield and brand on one line, with the "V" larger than the other letters.  This makes things a bit more interesting...

👋🏻. Im in with the Spirit X. Love it, but odd size for me when it comes to edc. Ordered a clip that will be here next week. Hoping that will make a difference.

Day 1

Look Coco a new challenge   :woohoo:

Both my Spirits are the butter blade variety, a very useful blade as it compliments any PE knife perfectly

One with the straight in a line VIC and logo with cross on the pliers, one with the logo above the VIC, no cross on pliers

I didn't know that.  This is my first Spirit, but I'm a little better versed on the full sized Swiss Tool on particulars.  Thanks and I hope I learn a lot in the next couple of months!

I think I might have posted this before, but if you have to carry something different in public, work, etc. i.e. local or national laws then by all means do so!  Carry your Spirit where legal and post pictures when you can.  If you miss a day, then post a makeup pic the next day.

I'm hoping to see some creative pics!  Speaking of which, has anyone ever used the parcel hook co located with the awl?  I think that's a curious place to put it unless you use the awl as a crochet hook :D

Day 0

Here's my Spirit (I believe an XC? Scissors and butterblade). Plan is to pouch carry on weekends and pocket carry at work. Looking forward to giving the goofy corkscrew a try. Probably pair it with a trad folder for PE backup most days.

That's actually the kit I'd like to put together around mine.  I've found that the Spirit is a lot tougher than it's good looks let on.

Day 1 is a pic I took at work before heading out.  I used the blade to cut open some snacks.
