I have been dreaming to attempt a one-handed mod for Spirit for the longest time, after seeing the original post from J-sews back in 2007. He went a great distance to create a custom blade for Spirit, just so it could be opened one-handed.So imagine my excitement when I first see the one-handed Spirit via the MXBS and the later MX version. I really do think they do a pretty good job on the wing-tab, and it is so easy to operate that it could be done even with heavy gloves.
Thanks guys. I woke yesterday at 3 a.m. to my dog of almost 17 years not being able to stand up anymore. His body started shutting down a few hours later. Some may disagree, but I chose for him not to suffer. Happy to hear your doggo is doing better Barry!
J-sews made that one OHO-Spirithttps://forum.multitool.org/index.php?topic=1167.0Only Tools Matters
Very sorry to hear that Roc, I’m sure you did the right thing but my heart goes out to you, such a hard thing It’s a testament to how well looked after he was and how much love you gave him that he almost made it to 17, that’s an incredible achievement
I'm so sorry Roc. Thanks, I spent the night with her on the floor. So far so good.
Day 60Comments left in day 59 post. One final observation, I realized this morning the Butter blade handled many tasks for cutting without fail, slicing, chopping, dicing, but one. Pealing!!!The SE does not do a great job at pealing, an Apple, or a potato. Removes to much meat. Yet, it is a cutter, and yet stays extremely sharp and has never needed a sharpening,!plus I avoid my fingers from any edge contact at awl times. A SE bite is very painful. 🙄 [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Thanks Sherry. I've had dogs all my life, but this is the first time for me to have an epileptic dog. It's tough because there's not a lot you can do outside of the meds.
On the road yesterday. No use. Opened an Amazon package today with the knife. Watch battery died. I’ve been thinking about getting an Apple Watch. Anyone have any negatives on them?
I agree, on all counts I prefer just a watch myself
Well! I agree to disagree, my friend. Yes, I have some nice wrist watches, I besides being rugged and reliable, they look good doing the simple task they are designed for, reporting the current time accurately. Yet, I will admit, I am a gadget freak. Intrigued when my daughter gave me my birthday present a month or so early. A iWatch to pair with my iPhone. No t what I needed, not another gadget, a gimmick. Well I was wrongIt can be a tool, at 70 this stage of life is a real challenge, especially after loosing companionship of your partner of 46 yrs. Then being diagnosed with cancer! It would have been easy to slink off into my home, pull the curtains and sit away my day. Instead, my iWatch monitoring my activity, nagged me to move, monitored heart rated,!measured calories used(sort of), advised of msgs, allowed me to accept calls while the phone not on my person. But, mostly it was my nag, reporting steps, stairs, stand time, etc. so I competed with myself to be as active today at least as active as the previous. Today, maybe, just maybe, I still doing good, still moving! Survived three bouts with cancer, and currently two periods of awl clears. It is a GOOD GADGET! Right up there with all my FRIENDS at MTo
