it's a cracker for sure.  :tu:

 :iagree:

It's nice to have something like that to remember him by.  I have a few in my collection that always make me think of Dean just because we shared conversation about them.

I'm very much an 11th-hour entry here. Most of my Cases are gonna have to go on the chopping block, as my Alox-Pox suddenly worsened a couple of hours before banging out this post. I doubt I'll acquire many more Cases going forward. One of my favorite patterns runs afoul of local laws (so I don't think it makes much sense to actively chase after them at this time), and my other favorite pattern is not in current protection. Bearing those factors in mind, this is very likely to be the only chance I'll have to get the Case badge.

Churchill and a Waynorth Lamb

The Churchill was my first GEC that I bought after seeing Dean's and asking his recommendation. This was back in the olden days when GEC's stuck around at dealers for a few weeks or months  ;)

Last year's Dean 51 Challenge was my most costly challenge yet - I think it caused me to buy about 10 knives.  I wanted to avoid it this year because the last thing I need is to be tempted to buy more knives...

I'm in!

TL-29s aren't a phase; they're good taste!

Day 0

It doesn't get much more classic Case than a jigged handle 47. In fact, it's the model on Case's reference card! No big day 0 observations this time. I enjoyed carrying a stockman during the Poker Face challenge earlier this year, and I'm excited to do it again.

I’m not sure about the “10 knives” but I think many of us can relate to Dean’s challenge result in the addition to our collection.

Glad you aren’t staying away

Awesome memory and sweet knife.

I was late to the GEC discovery and quickly realized how hard they are to come by, but thanks to you I do own one that is one of my favorite traditional.

I've got a few options to choose from, but I'm not sure where I'll start. I carry a CV Peanut every day mostly for sentimental reasons. My wife gave it to me the first Christmas we were married and it's been in my pocket every day since then almost 11 years ago. I love the Trapper pattern, too, so those will make some appearances. It's just hard to carry them in light summer clothes. I've got a few packed away for my trip this week, so I'm looking forward to carrying a Case after SAKs for the last few years.

We are off to a great start, y'awl! :woohoo:

Day 1

I'm starting off with a 3137 CV. This one is not going on the chopping block. It's shown with the sheath I carry Sod Buster Jrs in, plus the belt buckle I'll be sporting throughout July.

Fun fact: this pattern is often referred to as a Sod Buster regardless of who manufactured it, but Case trademarked the name.

Here we go, first day of the Case/Dean challenge.  Seems appropriate to start the month off with my first ever Case XX knife; a #18 medium Stockman.

Day 1

Like Dan, I am starting off with a 3137 CV. It will probably be the primary Case I carry this month, but I do have a couple of more Sod Buster Jrs in my collection  :D

The slip that I am carrying it in came from Steve, whom I look to for advice on pocket knives as he may have done with Dean.
