The Leatherman Pocket Survival Tool Inspection Report Pre-Order has arrived! 

Beginning with the Bob and PST Chronology Project, greatly expanded with the work of wowoboro, this is an evolution of all of our work.

If you want to learn more about Leatherman PST component feature variations, start here.

This 64-page book was written by myself with the help of many people here in this group.

Tim Leatherman graciously wrote the forward and added a number of notations throughout.

The Leatherman PST Inspection Report was created to help individuals discern and document 83 key variations to component features on the legendary PST.

After examining your PST for each component feature variation detailed in this guide, you will have a completed 83-point inspection report on your individual tool.

This run is limited to 100 individually numbered hard cover copies.  First printing, first edition.  Each order also comes with 10 blank reports.  I can provide more at cost if you wish.

Merit Badges Post your pocket dump photos then challenge two more members who must post their pocket dump photos within 24hrs for you to get the badge. Must update or add a page on the Multitool.org Multitool Encyclopedia Carry an orange item and post a picture of it everyday for 30 days. Start a thread with a photo of at least ten OPT's in your collection Participate in a challenge by carrying  a Leatherman Pulse or ST200 and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the Leatherman MiniTool for thirty (30) consecutive days. The blank reports are sent with the book.  There is an extra blank report in the book for photocopying though (2 pages) and a sample report to look at (2 pages.)

The book looks great! Unfortunately I don’t own a PST, and I fear owning this book would lead to trying to collect all the variants!

Are you planning on doing more to cover the time line of all the other tools and variants there of?

Would love a book like this covering all the tools.

Perhaps a compilation of the old school tools up until around 2004 or so :drool:

Maybe just the old school look tools and maybe not the Juices :think: they don't scream old school as much :dunno: :D

Or maybe the  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!!MINI!!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh and the Supertool OG and 200 :dd: could even throw in the OG Wave and SideClip for good measure :D

I like that!  I wonder how deep you would have to go on each to make it worthy of a book.  I don’t have a large assortment of that kind of stuff either so we’d need another SME to take it on.

A person would have to do it in chapters for each tool. Not having seen much of the PST Book yet. I would say that layout should be similar :think: that way it could be considered a series :cheers: and a companion book for it :cheers:

I’ve thought that the system used here could work in other industries though.  Zippo variations, PEZ dispensers, something that has seemingly an unchanged design that has been around for decades in production with micro variations like the PST.

The Zippos and Pez dispensers would be even more overwhelming to put something together than the PST :o still it could probably be done with enough time :D
