Talked to my local dealer and they showed me a picture of this, and later I found it on Victorinox site:

At first I was wondering why there were two pieces of sharpening stone when Immler shown it in his video, and now this make perfect sense.  Quite brilliant I must say, even the sheath has multi-use.  Long ago, I had a knife from LT Wright which a ceremic rod was embedded inside the kydex sheath, and I thought that was a really cool design.  But this is even better. :tu:

Looks like the bushcraft version of the Spyderco Sharpmaker... Now Victorinox should offer their sharpening stones with different grits ... :pok:
Best regards and stay safe,

I think this one is a winner...lots of thought went into the design. Not sure I will ever get one, but maybe. I always liked this style when we were in the survival knife phase. Enjoyed the conversation on camping too. Personally I never have done any bushcrafting and have nothing against those who do.

It occurred to me, that since so many had fun doing a Nessmuk challenge then why not do something similar? I'm thinking about a Kephart challenge.  Woodcraft at its core.
Kephart lived very near me.  His favorite hunting pal was a relative of mine.  If you ever see any of his books, the foreword gives reference to a town here in Western NC.  Some of you will understand my connection.
Kephart's Camping and Woodcraft is still an excellent read.  It is easily found in .pdf.  That could be part of the challenge.  I probably won't be around to contribute to the challenge, but it sounds like many of you would relish it.  Best wishes Gary

There is also a Kephart Trio, just like a Nessmuk Trio. I only learned this a couple of months ago. The Nessmuk Challenge was exhilarating, so much fun, so many different tools and uses. I'm down for a Kephart Challenge. I even have a knife inspired by Kephart's design. Or, I could get the Victorinox Venture knife and use that.

I had to look up the Trio term.  Got it figured out now.  I've been on here for less than a month.  I haven't learned all the lingo and secret handshakes yet.     Best wishes G

Question.
What's  that metal circle on Veture Pro's handle?

That's the bow drill divot, it helps with making the friction fire by making the knife handle as an impromptu bearing block.

I'm  not talking about the hex on the protrusion, I mean that circle in the middle of the handle.

Last week I received my Venture Pro plus Kit.
Beware, the knife is razor sharp!

It's  the sharpest knife I've ever handled.
This is a real cool kit. Oh yes, the knife rattles a little bit in its holster, however it doesn't bother me at all. I am not going to SEAL Team/Delta Force/OMON sneak my way through the jungles, deserts and woods.

In the Kit are two sharpening stones which fit in to the two holes of the sheath, but you can also use one sharpening stone. Just reverse the sheet and the other side of your knife can be sharpened. With only one sharpening stone in the Kit sheath, you cab carry some small extra items.

The blade has hardness Rockwell 59, so it is NOT for batoning and prying. It is made for slicing and carving wood.

I find fluted drills work a lot better than flat ones. Is worth the extra weight and pack size IMO.

I was playing with my Victorinox Venture and when I was done with all the whittling, the Venture was still as sharp as it was when i started. It is very comfortable to use and holds the edge well.

I took the picture with it beside a block of wood like the one I started with.
