I enjoy hiking and camping. On this particular trip, I found myself hiking into the forest a little over 2 miles.

It would be a rarity that my Cold Steel GI Tanto would not go along. It is robust and will handle most small to medium tasks including kitchen duty, hole digging, log cutting and splitting and any other needs that might arise.

In the first picture, you will see my tent with a nice fire ablaze, and down in the lower right-hand corner is my GI Tanto.

The second picture is my current configuration of the Tanto. Ranger bands padding the handle. Orange paracord looped through the end of the handle to make it easy to find if I drop it in the woods and also to loop my hand through so I can let it go if I need both hands, and then easily bring it back into service when required.

The sheath is what typically changes the most. Right now it is wrapped in orange and black paracord and has a cheapo MT strapped to it.

Looks great to me!  I love camping.  I have an orange Mora Companion that rides along in my treks.  Nice fire by the way!

I have a mora companion as well. It is the color of nature, so I passed some orange paracord through the handle and wrapped some around the sheath. It typically hoes along for the ride as well.

Appreciated!

Yeah, the fire was welcomed as the cool October evening progressed.
