Loving the great FB’s and their history guys Another stacked leather handle for FBF
Some fantastic fixies, y'awl! I'll play, too. This one doesn't have any great history, but it was pulled out of the mystery box. It's a CRKT Civet, and it's been getting some carry time lately.
Nice Case Echotech!
Great stuff, y'awl! Here's something different for Fixed Blade Friday: a Rough Ryder miniature Spanish notch Bowie. It's more of a novelty than a user, but it is usable up to a point. The 91mm SAK is for scale. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Horsewright Cowboy Toothpick with Bubinga handle
Spyderco/Phil Wilson Sprig. First photo is today, second photo is years ago. Good fishing knife!
Sweet blade with a great handle wrap!
How about some old Mora Knives for Fixed Blade Friday? No original sheaths in sight. The "big" one was in bad shape when i bought it at a flea market. Rusted, missing tip, loose handle and dull as a butter knife.. I could go as far as calling it one of my hobbies to buy and restore old tools that were made to be used for lifetimes but have been neglected. When i see a rusted, dull, quality tool beeing sold for a bargain i cant resist taking it home and giving it some love... The small one had never been used but both were missing their sheaths. I made the birch bark sheath myself but the leather sheath was from a cheap "tourist" knife that fit the mora perfectly. Morakniv still makes these shapes of knives and is what we in sweden call the "real" Morakniv. There were several blacksmiths making this type of knife back then but they were all forged in the Municipality of Mora. Its the knife that started it all and what would essentially become the brand that we all know by now. They are cheap, super comfortable barrel shaped handles that fit every grip you can imagine and lightweight knives with a scandi grind. If youve never held one of these i suggest you get your hands on one. The simplicity and the fact that the design hasnt changed in centuries speaks for itself imo. 91mm SAK for size comparison. Very cool. We need a how to on the birch bark sheath!
Examples of what they can look like with split roots or thread. I noticed these dont seem to have the same amount of "inner" passes as i explained and look simpler so i guess you can get even more creative with your design.
