As long as the n°8 was used for something else then just spreading PB  (i.e. opening the lid, slicing the plastic package, shredding a haute cuisine cookbook, etc.), all is forgiven.

I'm eyeballing all the "multitool"/outdoor models now, and I have a bid in on a carbone no 7. I think the 8 is a bit big and the 7 a bit small, it should be just right.

From what I’ve learned of Opinel, the No.8 series seems the be the “flagship” for the company.

I am French Canadian- my father's family is from the Alps, although I don't know if we've ever determined if it was the Swiss or French side.

A pretty good little knife. Its distress whistle will get one’s attention. One negative! I couldn’t fit the fork or spoon, from the No.8 Picnic, in the Otdoors knife.  So if you want to interchange parts, not happening

It's an outdoor's knife! That's awl you need! No soup or peas in the outdoors!
