ARC Owners Club
on: October 23, 2023, 02:37:46 AM
I might as well get this one started.  After the first weekend of heavy use, I am still loving it.  In fact, I cleaned up my usual weekend carry, a Charge, and put it away with my collection.

Excellent pic, Rich.

I see that the Arc is $224.95 at bhphotovideo.com, which I know to be a trusted vendor.  That's a little below MSRP.  If prices continue to regress, I may join you as an Arc owner!

 :salute:

I was wondering this week if someone would start the club… I’m also intrigued to read about daily use. I really wanted to get behind the Free P2, but there were several tools on the Free series I don’t care for. It looks like the Arc will fix those issues, but it’s still quite pricey.

I’ve convinced myself I need to see more posts that say “this replaced my Wave and I never looked back.”  :pok:

I am wondering how well that wire stripper works. Does the Free can opener even work at all? Do you miss the frame ruler? Doesn’t seem like much of a “pry bar.”

Im not asking anyone to directly answer my questions, but these are something I would consider as features used on my Wave.

I’m looking forward to mine arriving later this week.

Wonder how soon we can squeeze in a 30 day challenge?

Thank you, Poncho and Powernoodle  :hatsoff:

The only use of a can opener is wasting a space on a multitool, so in that regard, it works great.      I wont miss the frame ruler at all.

I'm not sure of the exact number, but there needs to be a critical mass of maybe 8 participants to get a new badge created.  Of course, lone wolves can do a Challenge for the love of the sport, irrespective of whether there is a badge.

Ooo!  Can I submit my application for the ARC Owners Club?  My two new purchases:

Manufacturing stamps on my ARC are 0423/0423.  Surprised to see they were assembling these six months prior to release date but am very happy to own one.

The Arc is a Free P4, so there is commonality in the parts.  That could explain it.   :dunno:

I've posted this picture in a few places already but it's my favorite. I used a small tesla coil and a long exposure. No photoshop needed.

Got mine today.

Pleased to say that the bit driver holds the bit much more secure than the #005.

Same here. Just arrived from Portland a day earlier than expected, and I’m also relieved that the bits are more securely held.

Going to give it a try for a few weeks to see if it will replace my P2 and P4 as my favourite daily carry.

Waiting to see what y'all will be using for sheaths. I did have a leather one crafted, and asked the crafters to offset the snaps to one side due to the belt clip. They did not set it over far enough to my liking. Going to look the sheath over to see if I can cut out some material in the back for the clip to slide into, leaving the snaps cover without the clip as an obstruction.
Tempted to put some sort of band over it cause I would be really smurfed if I lost the 40th Anniversary / Garage #5.

He is right that sheath is a Zapwizard special. I have bought several of his items. All have been durable and worked flawlessly.

If they are both new which one are you gravitating to more. I have a charge tti I love and a wave. Not handled an Arc yet.

Three Youtube reviewers have broken their replaceable cutters on the Arc:  Maxlvledc, HVAC Budget and Ink&Iron.  There is a notch at the base of the Arc's cutters which is not found on the P4.  That seems to be the culprit.  You can see it happen with Ink&Iron.

Not a huge deal, but when Leatherman screws you on the MSRP, they dang well better not screw you with the product too.  I'm predicting that they will be sending out replacement P4 cutters for the Arc.  But time will tell.
