The same replaceable wire cutters are used on all of their tools, so I wonder if it's just a recent change to the cutters.

If I am not mistaken the cutters used to be made from 154cm, they are now 440c. Don't know when they switched.

Could be the gap at the bottom of the cutters on the arc are larger.

Just saw this issue on YouiTube. Only seen one that chipped his cutter from deep recess cutting. Noticed Garage #5 has a slight hole too.

So, being a lemming I decided to try this out too. Had to find a common wire coat hanger. First two cuts cut. Next three only crimped the wire.  Did a few more cuts that went through, and those that crimped just needed wiggling and they went ahead and cut.

Seriously though, of all the Leatherman tools I have owned since the early 90's I never had to line up where I was cutting. Just threw the pliers up there and squeezed. There is a hard wire cutter with the ( ) recess, and the normal cutter. Do not do much wire cutting, yet still. Now we have to be careful how & where we cut with them?

Hey everyone, haven’t been on in a long while, but wanted to get in on this.  Just got mine a couple days ago and am very pleased.  They basically improved on the Free P4 in every way I could have wanted.

:hatsoff: Liking the black and gold color scheme.

Personally, am not pleased with the Can Opener, as I actually use that tool to open cans.

Save the can opener, unless the P4 was just as bad?
Yeah the can opener is whatever for me.  I never use them for that, but it occasionally comes in handy for odd scraping/scratching needs.

Seems the older carbide wire cutters are better than the newer versions.

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=g1nX2awnrqA

Update: Swapped out a pair of carbide wire cutters from a Rebar, and they fit well into the Garage #5. Putting the G5's into the Rebar pliers made a much bigger & wider gap issue. Now to wait for Leatherman to sell the replacements without the rounded butt cutter end, or find them on Ebay for $50 a pair.

If they are both new which one are you gravitating to more. I have a charge tti I love and a wave. Not handled an Arc yet.

I've had them now for a month.  For the first fortnight I used the Charge+ TTi predominantly (my go-to LM prior to purchasing these two was an '04 Charge Ti so the new TTi felt immediately familiar and comforting).
I started playing with the ARC a fortnight ago - it's the first 'Free' tech LM I've owned so took me a little time to get used to it - and I have to say that it's now absolutely, totally, 110% my new favourite and go-to.   It's a fantastic design and very easy to use.

Leather did good with this one.  Glad to hear all the love for the ARC.  While expensive it should provide years and years of service.

Years of service...   maybe...   I'll never pay NZ$600 for one though. I wouldn't pay half that.
