I'm in!

1. Explorer
2. IMR4198
3. Fireman
4. Z1913
5. Aztecypher

Just curious, would the Rover qualify as well?  I'm thinking no because it's got a few extras tools than the Classic.

I had to figure out what a Rover was.  Evidently a Rally with the old-fashioned pointy nail file.  Looks like you have a nice Classic SD there, Tex.  That's all you need anyway.  I'm going to have to recollect a little, but using the old type MiniChamp last month I don't think I used anything that wasn't covered by a Classic already.
I have two Classic SDs that the previous owner carried.  I like it that the scales are pre-scuffed.  There will be no tears shed when they pick up some pocket carry patina.  Best wishes.  G
 ;)
I almost forgot.  Welcome to the Classic Challenge.  You just upped the fun quotient.  G

good question BPR.

It's got to be in the 58 mm range and have the same tools as the classic or classic SD toolset.

so that would be a no to the Esquire as it's a 65 mm. same goes for ambassador swiss card or a dog bones

but completing this challenge will give you full bragging rights and if we get enough people a very nifty unique badge!  :ahhh

Oooh... y'all just gave me a mod idea.  Dropping the small 91mm blade into the 58mm Classic...  I think I like that.

And I have to agree with you Gary.  I was pleasantly surprised with I could do with my Minichamp.  I expect no less from my Classic.

I wondered if you were jumping in on this one, Lefty.  It is a bit of a commitment.  I think quite a few non-tool addicts actually carry just a Classic every day.  Goes on their car keys, or acts as a zipper pull on a purse.  I never carried any sort of 58mm before the MiniChamp challenge last month.  I bet Brick Bradford could have used one to good advantage.  Beat up.  Tied to a chair in a basement.  Water rising from a main left open.  He might.... yes, just be able to reach his hidden Classic with its razor sharp edge hidden in his shoe.  Just cut the ropes.... Yes.  That did it.  Now to save the girl.  Best wishes.  G

For clarification, does this challenge include all 1 layer 58mm models of the Victorinox and Wenger models?

My Manager (Vagabond Cellidor) is a  thick 2 layer.

Thank you , Gary.

I have carried a small utility knife through my career.  The first was an award in early 70s from employer. Pretty much wore that blade out, and then acquired my 1st SAK Classic (red).  Carried on of those till I found the Manager at a knife store, in mid 90s, and had it with me every day until it disappeared from my pocket in 2018.  My son found two on eBay and gifted each to me at Christmas. One is the one pictured, the other has a flat blade on the combo tool.

I have a few other 58s, some with lites, others with a pen, rites.  Even have my original without the Vic emblem.
I believe I even have the model  mentioned by Wenger with longer knife and file blades w/scissors, an advertisement piece gifted from a friend.

Basically, a classic has always been in my pocket for the first 40 years of my professional career. 😉

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I am finally able to do a few challenges, after everything around here

I think this will be an easy one, as if I lose the thing, I've got ten more. It's one of the cheapest, most versatile, and lightest knives they make. They are confiscated so often by the TSA, you can get them for less than five bucks a pop used.   It's also the knife I usually give first to someone who isn't explicitly into knives, and usually, when my fat rear is on the couch, there's a Classic in my sweats. It also covers scissors alongside basically any LM model that isn't my Charge TTi.

Sounds like fun. I'd jump in but my job would ruin every 58mm I have. I'll cheer y'all on from the sidelines though.

Thank you

Reviewed my SAK case and have a Classic SD, which is my oldest and was surprised to find the scissor spring is MIA,  and a Classic in my collection.

Experimented its function with my hands, and  this size just will not function in my arthritic hands.  Just thin enough that I can not grip to safely handle.

My smallest knives I employ these days are 3-1/4”, with two layer providing a better grip.  It is becoming a pain adapting to this old age crap.

Have a good  challenge you AWL!☺️

What the heck, I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. I shouldn't have much going if anything in January that requires a knife much larger than a 58mm.
