If we're allowing the Bijou and Broker, surely we need to have the Ensign as well.

One would expect simple Classic should be a simple topic! Amazing variety!

And Explorer didn't even mention some collectors favorites like the Rocknives and the Deluxes, which were Bijou-based...
Best regards and stay safe,

I think I have these

Classic SD (purple, multiple red, blue, yellow, Sky High, Shamrock, white/Buccaneers, and I want to say I still have a black one)
Classic--I think I may have one, maybe two.
Bijou (old horn, several red plastic)
Companion (at least two--both with and without lanyard ring)
Classic SD Alox
Signature (removable pen, which is unwieldy--a modern one with retractable pen is to be bought soon)

My Microlight Esquire is getting pretty old, and I was looking at getting a Signature Lite to replace it--darn, those suckers have gone up! Still though, given it's only like $10 more than the regular Signature, one is already set to be bought during the challenge.

Forgot I had this one as well.  Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is just an Escort with the LED scales swapped in?

Ooo another one. Forgot about the escort. This should also count as it’s the classic toolset minus scissors… in other words not adding anything that would change functionality?

It’s probably a swapped in LED scale. According to the Wiki there’s a Scribe, which is the escort with Pen, but no LED model.

it's got to have the classic toolset- so the escort would Not qualify because it's missing the scissors.

That's a cool little knife, Aztec.  I don't recall seeing an Escort Lite, or whatever it would be called in a catalog.  Now THAT's a minimal carry.  Let's say it is probably a scale swap, until somebody turns up something to the contrary.  That would be a good way to add a light to a more capable 58mm since you have everything you need for an upgrade.  By the way, congrats on your scale changer badge.  Looks good.  Best wishes.  G

Thanks Gary!  Much appreciated!

I wasn't considering the Escort for the challenge, as I thought the LED would disqualify it, not paying attention to the fact that it lacked scissors... DOH!

No worries Aztec!

yeah it's not the LED that disqualifies it because the Swisslite and Signature Lite both have LEDs it's just that it needs to have the same toolset as the classic.

I am in, I'll dig out my classic....I normally carry the wanger escort want-a-be at the office.  But I am a leatherman EDC'er 95% of the time, so this would be a challenge for me...

Hi gra-farmer,
I read your post about the Bushcraft UK site.  That looks like an interesting group.  We had a just joined Brit in our Mini Champ challenge.  He was a real outdoor type and a great addition to the endeavor.  Best wishes.  Gary (IMR)

My dad carried nothing but a Classic for years (until I gave him an Executive). Been a while since I carried one, but if it was good enough for him, it's good enough for me.
