Topic bump age limit?
on: December 16, 2023, 10:41:16 PM
Hi everyone. I haven't visited here in a few years and I am really sorry. It's nothing you guys have done, don't worry. I see some topics I might like to post in but they haven't been active in a month or two, is it okay to post in those? I am a little rusty on the forum etiquette and I don't want to do anything wrong.

Thank you.

Danielle

Some of the best posts lately have been older posts that have been revisited.  I would say post away.   I wasn't here last time you were active.  Welcome.  Best wishes.  Gary

If you think it might be fun, you possibly should look into joining in on a challenge carry.  Some of us are just now lining up for carrying a Classic for the month of January.  Carry a Victorinox Classic (Bijou maybe) for 30 days and make a daily report with a photo.  A fellow Brit (friend stoer) was in a challenge with us after he had been here only a few days.  Brilliant posts of picking mushrooms, damsons, chestnuts, etc.
It's up to you.  The door is open and the fire is in the hearth.  Best wishes.  Gary

I second that challenge carry.  It was surprising to know what I could accomplish with my little Minichamp during November.

I do like the idea of a challenge carry but I do not own a Victorinox anything, or a Leatherman anything or a ... you get the idea. I only have my cheap and cheerful Chinese multitool specials, even after being on this forum for seven years! I probably wouldn't have the commitment to take a photo and post every day anyway, I am very forgetful.

I didn't mean to embarrass you.  If you lived in the States, I would mail you a Victorinox.  Cheap and Cheerfuls are a big part of Multi-tool.org.  If you are very, very good and eat all your vegetables and do your homework, maybe somebody in the UK will Christmas gift you.  It could happen.  Best wishes.  Gary

No, no worries. I'm not embarrassed at all :) I have been kindly offered a gift before but I declined it. I really appreciate the offer but it never feels right accepting gifts, especially when I could go out and buy something myself if I really wanted to.

Thank you!

Danielle.

Good morning I see you again!

As the others have said, feel free to bring back old threads.  We are here to talk about multitools and I think will all appreciate the opportunity to do so even more!

As long as it isn't political or religious, we are happy to chat about anything.   :D

There you have gone and made it political.

We are going to have to lock this thread now!   :twak:

Danielle, its nice to see old threads bumped.  Sometimes information is forgotten so a old thread bumped is fun for many of us.

As for gifts, many of us love to share, have ya seen the Sos box GAW?  It got so big I split it two and sent one down under.

I do understand not accepting gifts or feeling off doing so  :salute:.  I was much the same tho I had no problem giving stuff away.  Things changed when I was RAK'd.  The pure joy the gift giver had made me reevaluate my thinking.

Curious what thread you were thinking of bumping?
