Anyone else following?

I'm watching Germany and Finland now.  I was very surprised to see Germany on the board first!

It's the best hockey you can get.

i have been bit busy time those match plays and forget to see how Finlands fare, i try watch when possible but this time of year tends to be bit busy.

The Finns played well today but we're beaten today by Germany 4-3.

That was a surprise- if I was a betting man, my money would have been on Finland in that match.

Norway isn't doing too well either despite usually having a strong team.  The Czech team is in the process of beating them HARD right now.  It's 6-1 as we switch over to the Canada/Latvia game.

Fourteen minutes left in the third and I think I'm done with Canada/Latvia game now.

It was 8-0 but as I was typing the above sentence Canada scored again.  It's 9-0 now and I doubt Latvia is planning a last minute upset to win.

I'm going out on a little mb and saying Sweden is taking the gold this year.

I'd like Canada to make it three in a row, but Sweden is currently mopping the floor with Team Canada, and all the mistakes we are making aren't helping us.   :facepalm:

Russia isn't playing, so they are no threat.... Obviously.

The US barely managed to beat Czech Republic in the third OT.

Sweden seems to be the only team not making mistakes this year, which is understandable considering they are playing at home.

With Canada and Sweden now each having lost a game, the US is the only team still undefeated.

Looking good for the Americans now.

And, we have lost one of our better players after he decided to play basketball with a German player's head.  That's not acceptable to me, so I'm glad they called it an ejected him, especially given that a similar thing happened to a Canadian player in the Canada/Sweden game and went completely unpunished.

In short, I am watching to be entertained.  I don't need these kids to suffer permanent injury for my amusement.

We made it against Swiss today and are third in the group. Waiting who we will be playing against in quarterfinals. It will be either Canada or Germany. It will be super tough anyway…

What a match! Unfortunately I didn’t see it (surprisingly I needed to work) but it seems that it was a great game.
I admire Canadians that they always push harder and harder when they are losing. I think CAN is the only team that can turn the game.
The thing is that luck makes half of the success and it looks like we (Czechs) were the lucky ones today.
But what a match!

I'm not a huge hockey fan (at least by Canadian standards!) and I do like it when my team wins, but mostly I want to be entertained.

A final score of 2-3, with the final goal being scored with eleven seconds left in the game is exciting because the outcome isn't determined right up till the final seconds.  It's intense.

Canada may not have won today, but I did as I was entertained all the way through!

I'm not usually one to crap on referees.  I have some friends who are refs and it's a hard, thankless job and they take a lot of abuse.

That having been said....

A Swede drives a Canadian's head into the boards like a freight train and gets no penalty.

Now a Swiss gives a Swede a teeny poke that probably wasn't even felt through the pads and gets two minutes.

I'm feeling a bit of a bias here.

Watching the match SWE : CZE today. Good game today, fast and pleasant to watch. Unfortunately the score is something that I don't like :-) Two fast goals of Swedish vikings and our luck is gone...

Did you watch USA vs FIN? I saw only the last third and have to say that it was not referee’s brightest moment…
Anyway, SWE : USA finals is supposed to be a great game. Looking forward to it.

I switched on the TV today to watch the match and we were losing against Fins 2:5.
I didn’t believe that we can turn the game. Not even this way!
