I hope the picture uploads. I am fortunate to live on a rural farm. I can camp in the field anytime I want to. Campfires such make rustic tent camping more enjoyable. I use a portable fire pit so I can keep it out of the weather to make it last longer. I like building the log cabin style fire. It lights well and is easy to maintain by rebuilding the log cabin as it burns. The wood is free as I can get it from dead or fallen trees on the property. Also pallet wood works well.

We do the same at my in-laws since the have a lot of fallen trees on the back 4 acres of their property.  Just pick a few big branches up and drag them back either on the 4 wheeler, the tractor or on foot.  Fun time for the kids as they get to roast marshmallows or hotdogs.
