Hopefully it has it's knickers
I am right there with you Steve, primary as I have been educated in another discussion, British parcel delivery law as are changing making it next to impossible for items in the sharp and shining category to be delivered to the common folk within their country 😢

I did receive two sodbusters this year, different  venders, exclusive to each.  A new release of  Burnt Corn Jigged Scales, a Burnt Caribbean Blue (sea Dragon) and a Bright Green.

Both had 01/24 born on dates. Both  had good F&F and solid W&T as they say.

Wishing for the best.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I’ve only flipping gone and done it,, I’ve ordered another new case.
So fingers crossed it arrives issue free, if not I am done with new case knives.

It’s very busy, so I am either going to love it or hate it.
I shall reveal all when it arrives tomorrow.

One thing that I can say about the British Postal Service is that they deliver things much faster than the USPS.   Can't wait to see what you get.

I know a few Brits that would disagree  :dunno:

The letter delivery service is gone to pot where I live.
The postman turns up once in a blue moon with a bundle of letters for me. When asked he said they get left to build up before they deliver them.

When Royal Mail was privatised the deal was  deliver to every road everyday as before..  but now with dwindling post as most people don’t even get paper bills anymore never mind letters,  they wait for the letters to stack up before delivering them,Which has resulted in lots of people missing important hospital appointments as they are not receiving notification till after the event

I have paid throught the nose to have this knife delivered today so fingers crossed it will arrive.
My trouble is i never show initiative, but that's only because no one has told me to.

Disgraceful.

The USPS is far from perfect, but they do still deliver every route daily.

They reckon they can’t make money out of letters and want to concentrate on parcels.
I can understand the workforce required to walk every route every day is huge for an ever decreasing demand. And as far as parcels go, short of groceries I can’t remember the last time I went physically shopping for anything else, it’s all bought on the internet.

Now the money made from parcels could be used to prop up the letter service but I am sure the shareholders would rather it was in there bank accounts.
I can see the government taking Royal Mail back as a good postal service I would consider critical infrastructure.

Seems like this might be best for the customers.  Also seems like the company might be in breach of contract if the agreement was that they would deliver every route daily and they now aren’t doing it.

Well it’s gone 7pm and no knife, that’s despite me paying £8 for next day delivery and it arriving at a delivery depot that’s half an hour away 7hours ago

It may by some miracle still arrive but I am not holding my breath.

It’s here,
Emerald green barlow with worked bolsters.
Fit and finish is perfect and blades are centered :woohoo:

This is too nice to condemn

Thanks, the bolsters are vey bright and like mirrors at the moment,
I know the blades won’t tarnish but I hope the bolsters  will dull a little with time.
The f&f is perfect,  everything is flush with no gapping and perfectly centered blades.

It’s so strange up untill very recently I had no interest in case knives at all. I was all about spyderco’s and benchmade, black g10 handles and black coated blades were my preference..

After I sent my good wishes, I realized the Barlow is a vault pattern from a few years ago and as far as I know not in production.

Did you purchase this beautiful Barlow from CASE or a dealer or Private owner?

Does the packaging indicate a born date?

I am delighted your expectations were satisfied! I really am 😎

The tang stamp dates it to 2019.

It’s a 2019 that I bought from a dealer.
But according to a YouTube video  I recently saw, this year the barlow  will no longer be a vault pattern and will now go in to general regular production.
Wether there is any truth in that I don’t know.

I caught that, but for some reason, I thought the Barlow vault release was 2020, but then it may have been 2019.

Knives released in the Black felt boxes are special production releases.

2023, Congress
2022, Coke Bottle (?)
2021,  Copperhead
2020,
2019,  Barlow

Now I will have to review my old catalogs as this question will linger until I resolve!  Thks Nate

Edit, quick search, 2019, Barlow was Vault pattern and also found a few Barlows are now available in 2023 catalog.   You are correct Chip.

I bought a new sodbuster junior and it arrived today.

Again the blade was hard against the left liner rubbing and marking the blade.

Again I persuaded it to the Center with a mall piece of wood and a mallet

Also what appears to be a crack running up the bone handle from the bottom in line with the pin, isn’t.
It’s just a white line in the dye. I looked at it with a powerful magnifying glass to check.

But again I am a very happy camper. After having to tune the blade myself. And according to YouTube what I did to achieve this is only what they would of should of done in the factory if they were to tune it themselves.

Very good!
I have had to make that adjustment on several knives on receipt. It is not a CASE issue only, Buck, GEC, Queen, and Rough Ryder share the problem.

The SOD BUSTER is a favorite, what scales did you get?

My latest CASE, a Razor , arrived Wednesday, Sawcut Caribbean Blue.

The color is spot on, F&F, and W&T are spot one.

Trying to warm up to the main blad e, At this point this maybe my one and only RAZOR,  unless the Sea Monster Burnt Jig Blue shows up, it sold out in a blink.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Thank you, it’s the pocket worn grey crandell jig I believe.
I love the saw cut Caribbean blue handles, considered this in the sodbuster, but wanted carbon steel and could only see the blue in stainless.

I have seen videos of people using mallets to strike bolsters on buck 110’s to Center the blades.

I wouldn’t mind so much but of the 4 cases I own I have had to do this to 3 as they were really bad, not just a little off Center..

I really like the Sodbuster pattern.
I'm of the opinion though that Sodbusters should always have the birdseye pivots.
It's classic I guess.  Been looking for a CV bladed buster lately myself.
