Request for Carabiner User badge
on: March 03, 2024, 06:51:15 PM
I am working on my cargo trailer and needed to keep the door open.  There is a stay strap to keep it from opening too far.  I needed something fast and flexible.  Nite-Ize Figure 9 carabiner to the rescue.  Tie to the door latch and hitch the carabiner to the loop on the tongue.

A good looking 'biner.  Just today I had to look up the type cord you were using instead of paracord a while back.  I never did locate the post you made, but did find Dyneema on the web.  I have been picking up a badge or two lately like you.  Once the weather fairs up more and the grass and things start growing, I won't have the time.  Nice photo.  Best wishes.  G

Gary, IIRC, the post was probably a Huntsman owners club post.  I have a “lanyard” (just a piece of dyneema with a half hitch thru the key ring on one of my Huntsman.
I have made some simple paracord lanyards for my Handyman, my wife’s Huntsman, and my Rescue Tool.

I know a few basic and simple knots,.  I have to have a video running in front of me to make a simple lanyard.  I wanted to make a soft shackle to work with my winch, but, found it much less frustrating to buy one ready made.
