New Limited Edition from Opinel

Opinel is releasing a new Limited Edition No. 8 knife with an ebony wood handle, forged carbon blade and a black locking collar to complete the look.

It is (IMHO) absolutely stunning.

And, even though it is expensive (for an Opinel), at 89 Euros, it won't injure the pocketbook too badly.

I like it.     

But I think I like a more classic ebony look with polished blade, like this.  Its very subjective, since all of them perform the same.  Its basically which kind of Man Jewelry do you want.

Agree with PN. I wish they made more of these in the smaller sizes. 8 is a little big IMO for a "dress folder"

If you don't have an Opinel, you are really missing out. 

They are definitely not the run of the mill pocket knife.  They may not look that thrilling, but the round wood handle is customizable (many people carve them) and the ultra thin blade cuts like no other knife you have seen.  Especially the carbon steel models, which also develop a one of a kind patina over the years.

And the best part?  They are cheaper than most gas station knives! 

Dollar for dollar you won't find a better knife out there.
