What’s the tube on the right side?
The plastic tube is a container for enclosed fountain pen making for a more robust carry.
FP = "ROOL's" Safety Fountain Pen - Flexible 18k Au F nib - ca 1930s Made in France.

Slishman Pressure Wrap
Interesting.  Had not seen one of those before.  Do you have a frequent use for it, or more just in case of emergency?

It's my first aid go-to when not armed. It can be used for a lot of different things besides stopping bleeding.

How do you like your HEST/f? I picked up one of the Leggaro version with the 3D Ti scales late last year. Beautiful knife but man, the blade’s thick!  Here it is with some of my other big folders.

Nice cadre of folders you got pictured there.
In short, I agree that the blade is thick. It is too think for my usual EDC.
In long, I bought my Ver 2 back in 2013 and pimped it immediately with a Cuscadi black canvas micarta scale. The V2 fixed lockup issues reported by some for Ver 1. I have some much thicker blade fixed knives and found convexing the edge worked well. So, that's what I did to my HEST. It of course will still split an apple before cutting it … lol
The clip was modded with a shorted Titanium home made job and I also made some lanyard beads for it and the HEST tool. It gets a run sometime in industrial sites and occasionally in the woods as a backup. Pics bombing following of mods and beads etc.

Thanks, and cool mods! I’ve got some Cuscadi or igorded scales on my Mini Griptilians (can’t remember which I kept on, one of them had issues and I can’t remember which. I’ve been off the forums and out of touch for several years as I’ve been busy with life). Yeah I remember when v1 came out there was some controversy around how Mr. Pelton handled things on Blade Forums and elsewhere, with the lock up. I’ve always liked the design though, and loved how the Leggaro looks, so when I saw it drop in price from the original $400 USD or so, down to around $250 I grabbed one right away.

I think it is the cheap as chips lowest cost beach wood. Here is spiel about my handle finishing in the Opinel thread. Also put a thumb stud on it which works well.

After success with "beach wood" & carbon blade I wend up market ad did the same mods to a No8 with SS polished blade and Babinga wood handle. I flamed the handle for some extra hardness and darker contrast finish.

That Astrolux is not a new light. Bought it a couple of years before the C19 pandemic in 2017. Although it probably would be OK in a museum, I like the simple formula with good moonlight and still impressive WFO grunt via a high current 18650 LI battery and 4 emitters.
