Yeah, sorry, real life interfering with free time to visit the forum.
I'm thinking of putting together something for September. Please make this known so many can pitch in.
It's free (well, the price of shipping), and you get to play with and keep new toys !

I'm happy to play but sending pointy things out of the UK (unless by courier, UPS, FedEx with associated costs etc) is currenlty problematic, to say the least  ::)

If it were to end in the UK then that's an option but, then someone will lose out.

If it helps - I voted "Remain" as Mrs Surge decreed that I shall die and be buried in Italy, where she shall mock me (when she can be bothered to turn up at my grave  :pok: :twak::dunno:

Shipping is awl we have to pay to be part of this or am i missing something. Are those shipping methods you mention unnecessarily expensive?

And that raises a good question actually. How does it end? Or do we just keep shipping it around to eachother untill we dont want anymore? I guess we can decide that ourself tho 👌😅

Hm… I don't know much about shipping to the UK since Brexit, but if something can be done, why not ? Can someone give more info ?
And yes, only shipping is involved. The box can go on for as long as we want, as the content will renew itself with each turn.

Shipping from the UK is problematic. I'm even more worried about shipping to the UK.

Any reason why we cant get this box started with the ones who have joined in so far?  :drink:
Are we allowed to make a post in a more "popular" channel like the General Tool Discussions one informing fellow EU members of this thread. I wouldnt have found it if Frenchephaistos hadnt linked it for me in another post. 🤔
Just excited to get this started and wanted tl brainstorm with yawl a bit  :salute:

I must say that the idea is fantastic. Also thanks to my countryman for bringing this to my attention with PM, might've missed it otherwise. My reason for not replying is due to my lazy nature and the time I needed to consider participation.

I do hope this gets off the ground and the ones partaking will have great time!

OK, with summer ending, let's see if we can get this baby off the ground.

THE SIMPLE RULES :
You will receive a box of EDC goodies (tools, knives, pouches, lamps, hanks, beads, etc.) out of which you can select from the contents.  You take what you want and put in what you want, if possible for an equivalent general value. The only requirements are to post a photo of the item(s) you selected and to send the box on to whoever signs up after you.

MORE PRECISE RULES
1. Try not to keep the box more than 3 days.
2. If you sign up, that means you know/have checked your local laws to make sure EDC tools can travel safely. Please, no items illegal in the EU !
3. To cut costs a bit, we'll regroup participants by country. Some EU countries are cheaper to send parcels to (example, sending to Belgium from France via "Mondial Relay" instead of the regular PO), so we can take that into account as well. When you get the box, please PM the next person to ask for his/her shipping info.
4. If you feel that you get a good deal from what you get from the box, you can make a donation to the forum to help support this wonderful place.

THE LIST (please indicate your country so I can prepare the smartest route for the box) :
1. Frenchephaisos (FRANCE)
2. Antti Lammi
3. AndyAaron
4. Customod
5. Styx
6. DKS
7. JowiiYoyo
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.

YOUR MISSION : let's give ourselves until September to make sure all willing EU members can get on board —please continue to contact known countrymen who you think would like to be part of this passaround. I'm also waiting for some EDC items I can add to the box in provenance of very generous MTO members in the US who wanted to make the box more attractive.

No problem, I understand !

Just to make things clear for everyone, you only give info by PM to the person before you. I know this won't change your mind Lefty, but it's just to clear up the rules.

OK, thanks to the help of AzteCypher (thanks, man !), the box is now pretty full and ready to go.
Could everyone send me your county of residence, in the list or by PM (if you want to stay discreet) so I can organize the best circuit cost and time-wise ?
And, just so you know, it's mostly knives for now. Nothing wrong with that, but if some of you have more MT or EDC related stuff, it would be great.
Once I have all your countries set straight, we can start our adventure !

OK guys, thanks for the info. I mean, y'all have a flag under your username, but sometimes really small (DKS, I'm guessing Cyprus ?), but I prefer to have it spelled out just in case.
I've got a list, here's the order of the list that it's in. It goes :

1. Frenchephaisos (FRANCE)
2. Antti Lammi (Finland)
3. Customod (Finland ?)
4. JowiiYoyo  (SWEDEN)
5. AndyAaron (Czech Rep)
6. Styx (CROATIA)
7. DKS (Cyprius ?)

I know, it does not take into account the chronological order, but it might cut some costs for those in the same countries and/or at least some carbon footprint.  :D

What is your particular feedback ? Here in France, it's the same price whatever country of the EU you send it to. I mean, Italy that is 200 km away or Finland that is on the other side of the continent, same price. If it's different for someone in the list, we can reorder it accordingly.

It'll cost me around 20€ here for 2 kg of goodies, if any of you needed to know (you can still opt out if that seems to steep).

I'll still wait for September 1st to give time to everyone (and particularly for Anti to send me his postal address), but the box is ready to go.

Correct for country.

Shipping here tends to be a bit higher than for most of the EU, but I will help with that, if it happens.
