It's now Day 13 for me, so before I grab a little sleep, I'll explain why the special rule was put forth. Mrs. FX would have celebrated her birthday today. She enjoyed seeing the pet photos y'awl posted, and our little pets brought her much joy. So I think the special rule fits well.

That said...

Day 13

Tommy obliged us with a photo. I'll do my best to get a Beijing photo later today (she's currently barricaded herself with blankets, as she recently got a bath).

Day 8
I would have liked to have posted a pic with my cat,Pepe, but he had to be euthanized  a few weeks ago. I'll post a few pics of him,"in memorium".
He enjoyed sitting with me and followed me all around the house and yard.
He also loved getting into the cars.

I've been using the scissors quite a bit, daily, but haven't been able to take action shots. Besides, who wants to see me snip my short and curlies?

Day 13

Friday the 13th is here.  Just some dribbly rain yesterday and last night.  Anything to reduce the fire risk.  I haven't had a dog in quite some time, so I had to make one with a sharpie.  Then I got lucky and got a photo of a fuzzy.  Best wishes. G

Scales look nice on that Evo-Grip.  I always wondered how the rubberized inserts hold up if you carry it every day.  I have one Wenger Evo, but it doesn't have the inserts.  The inserts do look nicer.  Best wishes.  G

I have 2 with the textured surfaces.

I have not had issues, they are or appeared to be affixed via an adhesive,

The texture for me improves my grip.  My feeling in my fingers have faded since I experienced a jolt of 270 AC that past thru my left fingers, past the shoulders and exited the right fingers.

Felt as if I just sat in a microwave.

FWIW, when I searched for this EVO, I found the 10 for 35 and the grip style for 47.
On eBay, I found this one if grips for 25 and free s/h. There was another for about $20 w/free s/h but it was on west coast.  I selected quickest via location.
It was dirty but cleaned up very well. Just could not believe I did not check the blade edge🤪
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

DAY 13 (cute animal shot)

Not taking part (just showing support) due to my somewhat bizarre working here/not here situation at the moment  ::)

I should have flown out this morning but then it was going to be this afternoon and then it wasn't either  :dunno:
Here's my wood scaled Wenger with Mrs Surge's teddy bear (she's had it him since we met, 27 years  :ahhh :twak:)

I live in a town & the only real animals here are foxes, rats or pigeons (flying rats) & I'd need a bigger knife for them.

I was worn out yesterday so thought it best to get to bed and post a day late today.

Day 12

Didn't get to use these much so I'll just do a glamour shot.  I believe these are just variations of the Viking but the one with the rifle print is called the Hunter and I'm assuming the one with the backpacker on it is a Backpacker of sorts.  Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

There were about 8 different types of Backpackers in 1979.  The one with the Viking type toolset was called The Adirondack.  It had Backpacker etch on the large blade.  Wenger number 16982.  All but one of the Backpackers had a hiker on the side.
There are so many changes in the names of Wengers, it is hard to keep track.  Best wishes.  G

Don't worry about not posting a pet photo for Friday 13th.  I got your back, Gordon.  This photo is for friend Gordon.  Maybe the racko family was in his back yard or something.  Looks like someone left them some bread.  Best wishes.  G

Thank you.

No pets at my house, tried to coze neighbor’s big fat Chihuahua into yard for photo, he did not trust me.

He was to have been a teacup variety, instead he grew to be a 8 quart pan size.

@AzteCypher: is that sisal rope? My cats have some scratching gear that could be repaired.

It is indeed.  It's a bit thicker than what was originally on the scratching post but it worked out great.

Day 13

No Chihauhuas around here but we do have a cute lagomorph named Bluey.  She approved of the Wenger.

@Humayd A R Mahomedy: I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I know Pepe got a "how cute" from Mrs. FX.

@AzteCypher: I think you have a Backpacker II there. I have one, but it lacks the blade etch. And Bluey is indeed very cute!

Thanks to awl for the wonderful photos. I know Mrs. FX would have enjoyed seeing them!

Day 13 bonus

Beijing and Sophie obliged their fans and posed for photos with the Evolution 23.

Someone else is celebrating a birthday tomorrow, so expect to see some blue. :)

Backpacker II had a saw.  At least in 1979 it did.  Maybe friend Aztec's cute red thing has a saw?  Who knows?  Best wishes.  G

Day 14

Junior 08

I do no like the idea that children need to be protected by rounded blade tips but I wanted to try out some single layer knife with the 85mm lock  and the only option available was the Junior model.
Actually the rounded blade is still pretty good for cutting and if you want to spread something on bread it is even better than regular pointed blade.
I like the lock on the knife as well - easy to operate and unlike some other reports I do not find it obtrusive in the pocket.

Day 14

I made it through Friday the 13th.  Whew!  What a relief.  I suppose there must be wind and rain somewhere to the south?  Just clouds and several inches of dry here.  Judging from yesterday's pet photos, MTO members who carry Delemont implements mostly favor cats.  There were some hungry raccoon photos as well, I seem to remember.
I don't have a TV, so I can't watch college football.  I can always catch an audio stream on the net.  I did accidentally find a soccer match the other day.  Spanish women's teams.  It was good.  It was interesting to watch the tireless gals run up and down the pretty green surface with the ball.  Occasionally one would get kicked or collide with someone and roll on the ground holding a leg or something.  I used to go to the college soccer matches when I was in school.  One of the guys who lived on my floor would come by and say, "Let's go to the soccer game."  Naturally I wasn't studying on a Sunday or doing anything else, so I would tag along with him and whoever else he could scam into going.  I had free tickets to any regular football game, but I never stayed on campus Saturday.  I only went to one football game in my four year sentence.
Enough non-Wenger blab blab.  Esquire again.  I think I will switch to a different Wenger soon.  This minimal carry option is beginning to wear on me.  Best wishes.  G

@BPRoberts:  :like: Pumpkin reminds me of my Jimmy!

@Echotech: awlways great to see Coco! Mrs. FX enjoyed the photos of her, too.

@ReamerPunch: what is the little square thing with the lanyard attached?

@Antti Lammi: :like: Taavi awlso reminds me of my Jimmy.

@Humayd A R Mahomedy: my scissors use has diminished, but they're still great to have close to hand.

@z1913: :iagree: I'd rather just teach a kid proper usage (and respect) for a blade.

@IMR4198: I can understand that. If you want to switch to a more feature-rich Wenger, no problem!

Another great day, y'awl! :2tu:

Day 14

The CE Highlander came out for Serrated Saturday.

And since sapphire is September's birthstone (and today is my birthday), here's the promised blue.

Just before modifying this post, I got a photo of Jimmy with the Evolution 23.
