Hope everyone is doing ok with all this weather in the East.  Talked to one of my vendors in Indiana today and he said they were expecting 70mph winds.  That's just nuts.

Day 27

Had to oil and sharpen this beat up Basic 63 today.  It looks like it led a tough life before I got a hold of it.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

It came as far north as NE Indiana. The WIND arrived first, out of the SE, it never blows from that direction, well  almost never. Then a couple hours later the rain came into the picture, diagonally at the same speed.

That stormed moved fast and slammed into its path making itself felt for a wide berth.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

No word from Gary today, which is atypical. Hope he and everyone in the path of that nasty storm will be okay.

Day 28

On this slightly rainy, slightly windy day, a glamour shot in the main branch of the Detroit Public Library.

Day 28

EVO10 and the two layers carries very well in front right pocket.

Very overcast day, warmer with SE winds yet today. And humid.

Finally this evening required the nail file to correct a very rough nail that fractured.

Hope everyone is riding out the storm ok.

Day 28

Big day for the PTC. Combo tool opened a bottle (not as good as the Vic one, had trouble grabbing the crimps), nail file does work very well (I usually prefer the cut style, but this is great) and tweezers got a splinter out of my finger.

Day 29 - Commander

Got a couple of these and noticed the file is reversed on one of them, presumably to stop it scratching the blade

Y'awl are doing a fantastic job, as usual! :2tu: I can only hope that Gary and everyone else in the path of that smurfing storm is okay.

Day 29

While opening a bag of Life Savers, I noted that the reverse of the tang is blank.

The obverse bears "Delémont" instead of "Stainless."

And orange Life Savers are pretty good.

Day 30 - Wenger Delemont Mod08 1932

30 days and 30 Delemonts, wasn’t sure I had enough but 31 it turns out

Saving my oldest, and in many ways favourite, for last; 1932 Mod08 Soldier pictured with some comrades

Many thanks to FX and all of you for a great challenge even if in my case it was more about counting the collection. I did use one of the commanders to open boxes almost every day and the odd beer bottle  :tu:

Some pretty neat collections were posted, thanks guys.
Day 25
I'll be seeing this through,so I have a few more days to go.

I broke a nail, the break went a bit into the nailbed, and needed a bandaid (or plaster as we call it here) to prevent the broken end from snagging on everything as i work.
I dislike bandaids on my fingertips since I feel it's a pita when working, causing a loss of some dexterity in the affected fingertip,so I usually cut these as small as possible

This challenge is just about over (for me, anyway). Circumstances have forced me to spend less time on MTo than I'd like, but awl the same, it was a fantastic challenge. Thank you to everyone who participated and followed along, not only in the celebration of things Delémont, but awlso the memory of Mrs. FX!

Day 30

I'm pretty sure this Backpacker II is the only Wenger I haven't shown yet. It awlso happens to be the only Wenger I own with an intact toothpick.

Day 30 of 30

So last day of this challenge and saved one of  my favorite Wenger last and its WengerGrip.
Used small flathead and extension to it to install new light on our backyard.

This was really enjoyable challenge to me to do and this is also my 5000th post on this forum so this was really good way to end this challenge.

Cool Wengergrip and congrats on the 5K!

Day 30!  :woohoo:

Group shot of my 3 main carries for the month with mini reviews:

Pocket Tool Chest: I love this thing. I think Wenger wins out over the Minichamp here, and I wish Vic would give us an eyeglass driver and an awl in the 58mm frame. Or just bring this back as a Delemont. Might even work its way into my rotation over the Executive occasionally.

Traveler: It's a Climber! But no hook, and I prefer Vic T&T. Awesome can opener though. I think I'm going to promote it to my kitchen drawer SAK over the Climber that's in there now.

Tool Chest Plus: Did you know there's no Wenger equivalent of the Swisschamp? If you want the pliers you have to either take a Tool Chest (losing the wood saw and fishscaler) or go up to this and add THE ORIENTEERING TOOL!  Is this a practical knife? No? Firmly on the silly big side of things. Will I carry it for a month at some point? Of course.

Fun challenge! Thanks for hosting FX. I'll maybe see some of you over in the clone/offbrand challenge next month.

 Day 30

I started this challenge with an assortment of newer EVOs, 2 Swiss Bucks and a couple smaller Wengers models.

The EVO 14 an original unit  part of my collection found favor for my needs. The scale tools, the file, and the Ben the scissors.

Yet, my real like was the textured scales. I found that my large hands good grip nicely.

Then I learned about a EVO 10, the same tools minus the scissors, available in plain EVO scales or textured scales. New, pricing had me leaning to the smooth scales. Then I found a textured, with Buy it now at half the price of new. 😘

So, after arrival a bath, oil and wipe down.

I am happy.  The 10 at two layers carried nicely.

The AWL and Cork Screw also function nicely.

A good 30 day Challenge!

Congratulations to my fellow members for sharing and completing Dan’s open invitation event.  :climber:

Posting this one a day late as I came down with a stomach bug over the weekend.

Day 29

This Matterhorn Original is too big for me to comfortably carry hence why it's a shelf queen.  Also, the blade layer has a very weak spring.  I've done all I could to make it better.  Only option now is to take it apart and do a spring transplant.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.
