Information on SAK Military Airplane Series knives ?
on: October 08, 2024, 03:44:56 PM
Where can I find info on SAKWiki regarding the Military Airplane Series knives ?  I have tried various searches but no luck.  I know they made some in the Classic and Tinker models, but not sure what others if any.  Thanks

Some of that sort of stuff is listed here, though I didn’t see the series you’re asking about.

https://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Victorinox+Series+and+Special+Editions

Perhaps a future addition?

As an aside, though, I’m not sure keeping up with every printed scale design would be a realistic goal.

Keeping up with all the designs is a challenge. That link is solid.

I think they were/are sold exclusively through DLT Trading; they were the Spitfire (Huntsman, Tinker, Hiker; Classic SD, Rambler), Memphis Belle (Tinker, SwissChamp), Warhog (Deluxe Tinker, Huntsman, Hiker, SwissChamp) and Warthog (Huntsman, Tinker, Deluxe Tinker, Hiker, SwissChamp). Some models are still sold.

Juan is correct. The aircraft theme scales appeal to me, seeing as I have a background in aviation.

Hey Juan,

Cool topic, here you can see some (picture belongs to a friend)

at least blacksnake camper was released by a German website in May 2021 and they released another one (down right) earlier than this.

Hey - Thanks for all the replies team and for locating the trader for these aeronautical SAKs

And yes, as folk have pointed out, and is briefly mentioned in the Wiki in one or two places, many, many dealers across the globe create their own custom scale design.
We typically do not keep up with dealer specific custom designs in SAKWiki - where we just concentrate on standard Victorinox models and Victorinox special editions.

However it would be interesting to know the licensing arrangements - I am assuming that there is one, as usually these custom scales still sport the Victorinox logo.

The really great thing is - That usually someone here at MT.o will recognise the design and point you in the right direction, as was the case here.     :tu:     :tu:     :tu:     :D     :o
