Day 20 + mug(s)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

My two favorite ceramic mugs with my favorite 20oz morning mug.   And since it is Saturday🤪 a ST300 is in the pic!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

And to think, by the name alone I thought the challenge was going to be starting a fire in the forest

I’m sorry to hear that it is not the case and you might have to evacuate.  I know all to well that situation and feel for anyone who has to experience.
Maybe I should have used "Be prepared" as the title of the challenge...I actually thought of what you wrote a long while ago, and thinking this maybe a good mental exercise for us all, putting things in prospective so to speak.

Day 20

I think food and coffee are probably the two most popular sub-topic on any challenge we see on MTo.   :D

Day 19

A couple other people posted their carry organizers, pouches, etc. Here's my Viperade V11, which is basically just a giant wallet (if they put a fancy clasp on it, I think it might count as a clutch purse...) I picked it since it had a pouch for the notebook, and mostly large pouches. The ones with lots of tiny ones feel like they're just complicating things to hold less.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

The front holds whatever pen I'm carrying that day. Right now it's the multitool pen I showed earlier in the challenge, since the fountain pen won't write on...

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

These weatherproof Fieldnotes. I got some with the regular paper, but I figure I'll fill this one first. This is also where my cash and cards live.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

The back holds small/flattish tools (to help make it firmer to write in the notebook). A small lens, FRED, and Pocket Wrench II.
I quite like Viperade as a brand, particularly the VE3 which has ample pocket space that will fit most MTs or SAKs.

Please share a picture of your bag.
A SLING style bag has been monitored for my use, but I have been employing at different times one of two different sizes of waist style backs, just worn as cross body strapping.

I do experiment with a few of them, and will take photo for you in next few days.  Stay tuned!

Day 20: Cup day!  My favorite, a gift from Mrs. R.  A La Rochere cup.  The honey bee in the glass dated back to Napoleon, whose personal symbol was the honey bee.

Coffee.  Dark roast, brewed extra strong.  No cream, no sugar, just coffee.  🥰

That looks more like the coffee I make.  Except for the slice of mushroom floating on the top.  Wait... That might be a reflection, or something.
Full disclosure.  I didn't have the green top K-cup coffee this morning.  I had the stuff in the bag with the elephant on it.  Won't be much of a rest until the next challenge on July 22.  We will be having a big series of challenges crunched together at the end of the month.  I'm in discussion with another member about maybe squeezing in one more.  Stay tuned.
Best wishes.  G

Day 19 of 30

So my wife just came downstairs wearing a brand new bra and asked if I would cut the tags off. I certainly considered taking a much more interesting picture , but wasn't sure how it would be accepted here,,,, so here's the tool and tags instead.

Day 20 and a "favorite" coffee cup?
Don't really have a favorite, but the one that gets the most use is my Yeti.   It's the only Yeti that I have,  I pretty much feel that the Rtic brand is just as good as well as being far cheaper.
So why use the Yeti and not the Rtic?   Well the Rtic has a flip open stopper that gets in the was of my nose.

Day 20
My wife is currently into those big soup bowl like cups, I prefer a smaller more traditional coffee cup. So my current is this DemoRanch mug I got a few years back. The Ozark Trail however gets the most use, usually with iced Tea.
Today's MT is a Stanley lic. SOG PPP.

They actually make mushroom coffee.  Despite liking mushrooms a d the claimed health benefits, I just haven’t brought myself to try it.  I knew of Ryze, but I guess  mushroom coffee is even more popular that I thought.

I have tried some cocoa that is brewed like coffee, which is pretty good; hot chocolate without the sweetness.

Drinking less coffee than awhile back because of the summer heat these days.

New teeth don't help either.

Definitely can't afford any of those mushroom coffees, my pods come in boxes of DARK roast for around  .50 a cup.

I used to drink multiple cups of very STRONG full caffeine coffee.  Cardiologist said no more caffeine and must be much weaker now that I’ve had an attack and have a new stent.  I said forget it.  NOw I drink Dandy Blend, which is much more acceptable to cardiologist and I like the flavor ( i do use 2 tsp in a cup).  This and some other diet changes have brought my EF, blood, weight, and lipid numbers to where the cardio said I have reversed my heart disease.   No more blood pressure medicine or statins.  It did take 2 years.

Day 20

Here's my go-to coffee holder.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I found it at a thrift store in Fresno, CA. It didn't cost me any more than $0.55. Considering that I left California over seven years ago, and it's been seen in many an MTo photo, I'd say I've gotten far more than my money's worth out of it.

Here it is full of coffee and with my olivewood Opinel No. 6 on top. Fairness and full disclosure: the photos were taken last night, as I had to abstain from coffee this morning. :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
